I awoke from my spot upon his forehead. I petted his scaley head one more time before standing. "I'll return with a cure Ice.. I promise my dear friend." I whispered to his sleeping form. How at peace he seemed now compared to when he was awake and suffering the gloomy thought of his dreaded fate. Flapping my wings with little difficultly, my guardian appeared beside me in his angelic form. His long ebon hair and crimson bangs blowing in the wind. He placed a respecting hand upon Ice's head and bowed his own head. He whispered a prayer for luck and removed his hand from the slumbering beast. Turning to me he gave me a mournful look. "Don't. We both know this must happen. He has done nothing wrong. He does not deserve this disgusting and terrible fate." I whispered as tears formed at the bottom of my eyes. I closed my eyes and shook my head as I thought about losing my best friend to a stupid curse. "You'll lose her... you'll lose your daughter." He pleaded with, his hands grabbing my arms and shaking me. But it did not change my mind. "We will still see one another, when she goes to see Memnoch, her grandfather. I can see her then. You are now in heaven to take my place. All has been taken into account." I whispered as he wrapped his arms around me in a brotherly hug. We vanished in a thick white light only to appear in the high heavens before our holy lord. "Dear child of both light and dark. You call upon me to scarific something of yourself in order to save the one known as Ice. Tell me why I should grant such a wish." Our lord God spoke in his calm and collected voice. "He has sinned no more then any other creature. I have sinned more then he has and yet I have failed to be punished secussively. I walk the earth with my right to speak and talk, with my feathered wings and the ability to love, touch, hug, and kiss the people I love. And yet you would be taking such a thing away from a man who has sinned less then I. Take my percious heavenly wings. If that means death for me, then so be it my lord, but please, do not sentence my friend, my brother, Iceman, into a life of immortality with out a voice or a body to touch, hold and kiss those he loves like I can." I pleaded as tears ran down my face. Angels I knew surrounded me, bowing beside me to God, to prove they too wanted this for Ice. They had only heard stories told by my own lips of how Ice had fought by my side, saved me and risked his own life so mine could be saved, and thus they knew he was a hero, a soul to be saved. Though God had no face, we angels could feel his smile. His approval. I smiled. I smiled even as the angels grabbed my arms and made me bow to the lord who I would bow to any day of any year. I smiled even as the sword cut my heavenly feathered wings from my back. And I smiled as my guardian, shiroyami, my father, Memnoch(lucifer), and my daughter, Midoriko, dragged me back to my home on earth. And clutched tightly in my hand was the cure to save Ice, to set him free of his curse and allow him his human form once more. The holy light of our lord trapped with in a bottle soaked in angel blood, my blood.
