4-0 Win
Game Preview: Well the All-Star break has ended and we are back on the ice to play again! Montreal will face Washington back to back this tuesday and thursday. Cristobal Huet will get his ninth straight starts. The key to win against the Capitals is to keep Ovechkin from scoring.
1st intermission: What a game in Montreal right now! What a game! And it's only been one period! 3-0 for Habs but the Capitals are giving alot to get some goals. Defence is playing very well against Ovechkin and their attack. Every forward line has been amazing! Each got many chances, and even well planned. We're playing like a really smart team. Oooh! Where can I start with Huet?! He's been incredible! Even his puck handling was awesome! 29 shots all together, but Montreal is down by one shot. What a game! I hate everyone in the Bell Centre right now! Description of goals: Michael Ryder, in the middle of the offensive zone, gives the puck to Andrei Markov at the point, he passes to Mark Streit, he takes a good shot and the puck goes over Johnson's pad. 1-0 Montreal. Montreal gets two penalties. When one ended, Sergei Kostitsyn's, Tomas Plekanec had just intercepted a pass of a Washington play. He's on a odd-man rush with SK, #14 passes the puck to him and he scores short handed! 2-0 Montreal. After the second penalty, Steve Begin gets out of the box and tries to catch Saku Koivu's pass but it goes behind the net. He's the first one there and passes upfront to Saku Koivu who shoots and scores! 3-0 Montreal!
2nd Intermission: It's still 3-0 Montreal! It is still a good game! Both teams keeps exchanging chances from side to side. Ovechkin still closely watched. The fans are really behind the team right now. Kovalev got hurt on the thumb but It looks like he's fine... Thank god! Cristobal Huet is playing like he is at his best. This is a wonderful game to watch, a bit less if you're a Caps fan.
Final: 4-0 Montreal! Cristobal Huet gets a shutout! hooray! Very good game! We played like a team with alot of experience. Some mistakes here and there, but not alot. I kinda wish our Powerplay would get back at where it use to be like, at the first place. Cristobal Huet is the big hero tonight! He's been absolutely great, heck, even incredible! It's a bit of waste though. We have Halak that keeps sitting there and doing nothing. Hmm. I really hope Higgins will get going soon. I'm really worried about him. He's been wonderful tonight, but he just didn't get any points. This was a good game from the Capitals. They shouldn't feel bad about this game at all. If thursday will be like tonight, the ticket holders will get their money's worth. Great night for Kovy as well. Description of goal: Alex Kovalev shoves in a rebound after a missed deflection. Tomas Plekanec and Mark Streit get assists.
