Chapter 7: The Bond of Fire and Ice

“How can this be… beaten by a runt…” the masked man said. “That’s what you get for underestimating me.” Astral said when suddenly the Nexus opened in the sky. “heh, time’s up… it’s been fun kid… as a reward for your efforts I shall show you my face and give you my name.” the man said as he broke free and took his mask off. Astral was in shock at the appearance of the man. “Name’s Yami… and consider yourself lucky.” Yami said as he jumped into the Nexus and it vanishes as the sky turned back to normal. “He looked just like…” Astral said to himself as he suddenly fell in the snow and felt extremely drained as his wound from the impaling reopened. “Damn… got to gather energy to close it…” he said as he used what energy he had left and closed the wound. “Looks like I’m gonna be resting here for a bit…” he said as his eyes slowly closed and his breathing slowed.

Meanwhile Sana successfully got Kiro to a safe place in the outskirts of the town and rested him in a nearby cave. “Good, his pulse is back” she said relieved. Everything that happen rushed through her mind once again but was stopped by one memory, the minute where Kiro and Sana’s eyes met, for some reason when she suddenly thought of that she could feel her face a little flushed with red as she remembered the kind and warm feel his eyes gave off that made her feel at home with him. As she snapped out of the daydream she looked down at him as a smile curled upon her lips and she unknowingly passed her fingers through his hair and played with it. This brought back memories for Kiro as he remembered when he would rest his head in his mother’s lap while she would play with his hair as she would smile at her son with pure love. Kiro let out a soft moan of pleasure as he turned slightly onto Sana’s lap; Sana stopped and blushed slightly at the fact that his moan made her heart skip a beat and slowly continued while humming a soft mellow song. Shortly after Kiro woke up and looked up at Sana who had fallen asleep, Kiro quietly got up and set her to lie down and took off what remained of his top over her to keep her warm.

Kiro stepped outside to see where he was and suddenly remembered the fight. “Astral…” he said as he attempted to go search for him but failed as he ended on his knees still not fully healed. “Damn… that b*****d did one hell of an assault on me…” Kiro said to himself as he leaned against the mouth of the cave and rested. An hour later Sana woke up and noticed Kiro’s tattered top covering her, worried that he left without getting enough rest she rushed outside and started to search for him. “So you’re awake.” Kiro said as he got up “Oh there you are, I thought you were going to run off without rest but I guess I was wrong.” Sana said smiling at him “Yeah, I attempted it but failed no doubt.” Kiro said smiling gently as he felt healed just from seeing and hearing her. “You think Astral’s alright?” Kiro asked. “Of course, he is my bodyguard after all.” Sana said trying to cheer him up. “Yeah, that’s true.” He said as felt at ease. It was at that time Sana realized how well built Kiro’s body was. “Oh, that’s right… you’re going to catch a cold without a top… might as well get you a new outfit.” Sana said as she went to the village to get new clothes for him blushing slightly at the fact that she was staring at his chest. Kiro waited as his communicator suddenly went off. “Kiro here.” “Kiro, its Rei… have you successfully prevented the Oracle of Ice from getting stolen?” Rei asked “Yeah I have, sorry for not reporting it in sooner.” Kiro said surprised at himself for a late report. “Its alright… things happen, glad to hear that the mission is successful and complete… I’ve just got recent orders for you to head to Aerolitha ASAP.” Rei said. “Will do. Kiro out.” He said as he ended the communication. Just as he finished Sana came back with a red sleeveless zipped up vest and blue jeans and a matching jacket. “I hope you like it, and that it’s your size.” Sana said as she handed him the clothing and turned around. Kiro went into the cave and changed into his new attire then came back out. “Well… how do I look?” Kiro asked. Sana turned around and was impressed with how well he looked. “I like it… it makes you look handsome.” She said. “Thank you; you sure know how to pick a good outfit.” Kiro said as he suddenly felt Ryle’s presence in danger. “I’m sorry but it’s time for me to take my leave… Take care and stay safe. ” Kiro said as he was about to leave. “Wait.” Sana said as she walked over to him and took off the bracelet she was wearing and placed it around his wrist. “Think of it as a thank you gift for protecting me.” Sana said as she stepped back and felt a little saddened that they couldn’t have chatted longer. “ummm, you think it’s possible that we will meet again?” Sana asked. “You never know, if that’s what destiny desires then we will… Thank you for caring me back to health and for the nice conversation.” Kiro said as he kneeled and prepared to leave. “Same to you, and I hope we get to meet again soon.” Sana said as she curtsied and watch him take his leave. “Please stay safe Kiro…” Sana said as she turned around and headed to look for Astral.
