David’s Song

In the back of a little car he folded his hands,
And though he is only a child he understands,
That a gift that is given of love could never be earned,
For a father’s love for his children is all that he yearns.

And as the night begins to fade,
David bows his head to pray,
As the Angels sing of one more that’s come home,
And as any 5 year old could see,
This love is so much greater than his need,
So David, go to sleep you will never be alone.

He runs with a fire in his heart and a glean in his eyes,
His playground is all that is under the Scotland Sky,
And thought he may not comprehend how this miracle’s done,
He knows that his Father’s a King and he is His son.

And as the night begins to fade,
David bows his head to pray,
