I look into your face
And your eyes become windows
To the world that?s left inside
Through the clouds and the rain
The blue skies and brightest sunshine
All that is kept within
Radiates through two small openings
Bleak and dark
The sun can?t shine through
Full of feeling
But full of emptiness
Laughter pours in
But nothing comes out
Blocked by barricades
Kept up by pain and lack of trust
Nothing has been shown
For years on end
Nothing will be given
For many more to come
The windows are all broken
The pain is pouring out
The barricades have fallen
The lights have been turned out
There?s nothing left to welcome
The entire hurt and screaming doubt
Through your eyes I see your world
Dark and gloomy place
Nothing left to wonder
It is seen upon your face
All the hurt, sorrow and pain
That is hidden inside
By the clouds and the rain
