But lets go back to my brothers before I go any further into my training. As I said earlier Nathaniel killed my familiar Cair and Isaac well he also killed Richie. And he was very careful about it too. For one thing he never used magic to kill them because if he had his powers would have been taken away. He hit Cair with a car, planted the bomb that Isaac and shot Richie with an ordinary gun. Isaac was the oldest of the three, he was nineteen when he died, Richard was next and he also died at the age of nineteen. But Nathaniel was a few years younger than them and so when he died much later than him, at my hands, he was also nineteen. I was the youngest of our little makeshift family, all but Michael died at the age of nineteen, and I am now nineteen too. I was so young when I met the three of them and still relatively innocent, compared to how I am now. They were easily able to mold and shape me. So in many ways who I am now is a mixture of the three of them. I have Richie’s capacity for love and physical skills, both my fighting abilities and my endurance I learned from him. From Isaac I have my emotions, my temper and horrible yell as well as the ability to slice people’s hearts with mortal words. And I, of course, have Nathaniel’s mind, his ability to strategize and learn things quickly. But not everything I picked up from them was so grand. Because of Richie I lie, drink and smoke, because of Isaac I keep secrets and have to struggle to relate to other people. And Nathaniel, because of Nathaniel I know very well the lure of dark magic and what its like to kill a human being. When Nathaniel first killed Isaac I felt responsible. It was my very first obsession. I wanted to know exactly what had happened. And shortly after I started looking into it I figured out the truth. Richie didn’t believe me until Nathaniel completely snapped and he confessed to both doing it and to his reasons. He told us that he was after me and then he fought with Richie. Richie won and Nathaniel fled. Once Richie saw the truth and saw that he could not stop his brother on his own he realized that with my talents one day I could. And he knew that I would have to be the one to put on end to Nathaniel, that I was in fact the only one who could. But after Nathaniel confessed Richie and I both knew that the clock was ticking and my battle with him would be happening soon and I wasn’t ready yet. I needed a lot more training. As good as I was Nathaniel was out of my league. So Richie sent me to summer camp.
