Ch 10: Alice got nothing on this.

“You may want to watch-” Vincent’s warning came a bit too late as arms shot out of the reflecting pool and pulled Michael in “-out.” Vincent finished after watching the events unfold.

“Impeccable timing.” Diamond said dryly to Vincent, who shrunk away from her. She didn’t even bother to look at him and walked to the reflecting pool and stepped into it, she sank calmly through it “Come,” she told Vincent, like he was her dog, before her head vanished below the surface.

“Woof.” Vincent said dejectedly and followed her into the reflecting pool.

Michael was sitting on his a** when Diamond came through “You alright?” she asked.

“Being dragged by demon hands aside, I would say so.” Michael told Diamond. He paused and felt his hair “I think one tried to wash my hair.” He commented with slight surprise.

She gave a small ‘ah’ to acknowledge his status and Vincent came out “Just remember not to stand over the pools for too long.” Vincent warned just a little late. He observed his surroundings “Which one are we in?” he asked Diamond, he figured they must have renovated it since he had left.

“I believe this is sloth,” Diamond said, hand on chin “though I may be mistaken.” She added.

“First time for everything.” Vincent said sarcastically and was punched in the face by Diamond “Devil woman,” he held his bleeding nose as he recoiled and was hit again.

Diamond cracked her knuckles “You were saying something?” Diamond asked him, she might as well have cackled but she didn’t.

Without either noticing, Michael began to wonder around the room and began to play with himself, a game of basketball to be exact. “They must have renovated.” Vincent said.

“Congratulations Lieutenant obvious, you have been promoted to captain.” Diamond quipped.

“Did they take out the snake pits?” he asked, taking the moral high ground by ignoring her remark .Just as Vincent asked, he got his answer when he saw Michael dangling over a pit of snakes “I’m guessing no.” he said in somewhat surprise and sighed Diamond gave him a polite clap.

After being rescued from the snake pit by Vincent, Michael sat down “Where are we?” he asked, not paying attention the first time.

“The first circle of hell, sloth.” Diamond said, with more patience than she had to Vincent.

“These aren’t very circle like.” Michael commented.

“They were,” Diamond explained to him “but hell was starting to get crowded, so they built a castle over it and constructed nine portals to house each ring of hell.” She calmly told him and then thought of something “Why did they make it into a gym though?” she asked no one in particular.

“So she doesn’t know everything.” Vincent remarked with fake surprise and was punched again.

Michael was too far in thought (or he was trying to look deep) to notice the altercation “For fat kids,” Michael started, wishing he had glasses as to remove them in a cool manner, “Gym is hell.” He said. As if on cue, a whistle in the other room was blown, calling Michael’s attention to the sound of jogging from the same other room. He went to investigate it with his companions. The second room was identical to the first except a group of people in neon green gym shorts and ugly white t-shirts with a logo on the front of them.

Cracks formed as the runners hit the ground as they passed, but healed after the runners left. One poor soul stopped for a moment to breath, perhaps a respite, but the ground caved in and, even though Michael dashed for the man, he was plunged into a pit of snakes below the floor, Michael got there just in time to see the floor heal itself, sealing the man in.

“Keep running ladies!” a fat, squatty man called and blew his whistle. He had a horrible comb over, complimented with a perv mustache. The fat b*****d was wearing a soiled wife beater and sweat pants in the same neon green as the runners. “Come on women!” he spit as he yelled “You can play with each other’s hair after the workouts!” He yelled the same derogatory insults, and his face got red as a strawberry, to the point where a heart attack looked imminent.

That’s when it hit Michael “Mr. McKinson!” he exclaimed, he remembered the gym teacher from his freshman year, the one who always made sexist comments and pinched girls, was sitting right in front of him.

The fat b*****d’s gaze shot over to Michael and company. “You three, why aren’t you dressed out?” he asked furiously as his face became scrunched up “Get dressed, and get out there NOW!” he roared at them, veins bulging.

“Make me, Fatty.” Michael replied stoically, if not in a childish manner. He had finally said what he wanted to tell the fat man all these years.

“What?” McKinson yelled, his face getting redder, he pulled out a chain with a blade on it and cracked it like a whip “Get out there, or I will--” he clutched his chest, dropping the chain, “Kill.” The color drained from his face and he stumbled, he fell to the floor with a thud and was as dead as a door knob.

“b*****d had a heart attack.” Vincent noted. The runners moved to the sidelines to rest.

“The witch is dead!” one proclaimed.

“Be quiet, Izazu.” Another one said and they headed off to the locker rooms through a door on the opposite end

“We still have business here.” Vincent said, looking around and a giant toad demon (Aptly named Toad) burst through the ceiling. “Convenient.” Vincent said.

The doors of the gym slammed shut and locked “You can’t escape now, demon hunter!” Toad said Triumphantly, he hopped around to avoid falling through the floor.

“No use, it is solid plywood.” Diamond said dryly, giving the door a half hearted push. Michael adjusted his grip on Nirvana, getting ready for a fight.
