It was true, that another thought was occupying Sarah Wood's mind, and that was Sirius Black. Together for about two months - the two of them still were in that 'awkward new relationship' phase, without the awkwardness. The two of them, were two of the most unawkward people around, which could show as a two good people to be together, and for the most part - it did. However, with the new school term, the two of them were busier than ever - Sarah with quidditch, and Sirius with the marauders. For the past two months, the four of them would just disappear randomly for a day, and wouldn't come back until the next lunch hour. When they did - they always looked tired, and raggity - especially Remus. Naturally, the Slytherins took this opportunity, to make some snide comment about what exactly the four of them had been doing, and Sarah would shoot down every one. It bugged her that she didn't know, and it took all self-will, to keep from asking Sirius, whenever in his presence. She was a naturally curious person, so her mind often wondered to what it was, but she never got to any reasonable conclusion. But really, the two of them were busy people, and she tried her best to get as much time around him as possible. But between the marauders constantly clouding around the boy, and Sawyer and Davy making things difficult on her end - it was deemed a nearly impossible task. Yes, Sawyer and Davy were not happy about Sarah's new relationship with Gryffindor's star. The two twins rarely fought, but this was one of those situations which they did. It didn't end so well, and although they talk, their conversations were dampened drastically, and it was up to Davy and Matty to keep conversation rolling. It was obvious that Davy was shocked too, but it being Davy, pretended to be supportive. Perhaps that was why she loved the boy so much.
With Sarah's newfound separation from her two usual leeches, she found herself in the common company of Matilda Bell. Of course, the two had always been good friends - roommates since first year and all, and it wasn't until lately that the two of them grew close. Of course, Sarah knew of Matty's devoted crush to none other than Sarah's own twin - Sawyer. It was a weird concept to grasp - not her liking her brother - but because Sawyer in a relationship was absurd. The boy never seemed to be interested in anything of the like, and though past years of attempts at hinting things to Sawyer, he didn't seem to budge. Matty's big crush worried her slightly. If things didn't work out, the girl would be crushed, and after seeing her range of emotion, her weeping mood could not be the most pleasant of things. Like Davy's affections for Alice, Matty's feelings for Sawyer weren't a secret. Everyone noticed, except for Sawyer, who wouldn't notice if she wore a 'I <3 Sawyer' t-shirt, or wrote him a love poem. Sometimes the boy drove Sarah mad. Matty's feelings only seemed to grow, and she had requested the assistance of herself, and Davy, to perhaps drop some hints. The Valentine's ball was coming up, and trying to snag a date before the ball, was of vital importance. Unlike other years, Sarah did not have to worry, she and Sirius were going, and for once, she felt she could be calm about the whole thing - and what a relief it was. So from there on, she spent her time trying to help her friends as best she could. Davy and Sarah took every opportunity they could in Sawyer's presence, to casually bring up the date, and question about dates. It didn't work, and just got the conversation to change to a heated argument about Sirius Black.
Sarah's hands were freezing, and her knuckles were white from her tight grip on her broomstick. She and Davy had walked back through the school's corridors, and up the moving staircases, before arriving at the common room. The password was uttered, and they entered. Ten minutes were spent in the emptying common room, as they recounted the events of their night, laughing as they told of what Remus had done in potions class, and breathing their nightly 'catch you in the morning', before splitting up in their opposite directions towards their dormitories. Sarah continued up the narrow, spiral staircase, until reaching her dorm room, which she shared with Matty and Alice. The sound of music being played, could be heard from the outside, and it was obviously just Matty alone. Alice would have demanded that it be turned off, if she were there. Sarah gripped the door handle, and walked into the dorm. Sure enough, there were open boxes and trunks, with half-unpacked clothing, parchment, and quills lying about, as Matty unpacked her holiday cases. Sarah had done what was necessary. Since she really wasn't all that picky about her clothing and various things, she kept most of it balled up in her trunk. On her bedside table, was a worn copy of Quidditch Through the Ages, along with a half-eaten box of bertie bott's, and a quill. The corner of a coiled notebook, peeked out from the table drawer, which was her and Sawyer's record of everything. It was a photo album, journal, and notebook, all in one, and shared between herself, and her twin. They pasted pictures, commented on them, and then the other would comment back. Everything from a newspaper clipping, to lyrics of a song were written down on it's pages, and Sarah found herself reading the worn book, when she couldn't sleep. Sawyer was that part of her.
Realizing she was standing in the doorway, reminiscing, she quickly took a few steps forward. Her casual smile drew on her face, as she shook her hands madly, trying to regain some of their feeling, from their previous numb experience. "I see it's a party up here" she mentioned to the lump which was Matty - as she walked over to her own bed, and set down her broomstick. "You like this song, don't you?" she asked, being able to slightly remember the basic melody of the song, from previous times Matty had played this particular record. She grabbed her polishing kit from underneath her bed, and began to work on polishing the wooden handle, golden nameplate, and straightening the twigs on the bottom. She did this after every practice, game, and fly-about, which kept it in tip top shape. Rubbing at a dark spot, she glanced back over her shoulder "jus' about done?" she asked, her accent as strong as ever, as she turned back to her work. Out of habit, her tongue stuck out from the corners of her mouth, as she rubbed furiously at the oak broomstick. She decided not to mention dates, Sawyer, Sirius, or the Valentine's dance for now, and would wait for the other girl to bring it up. She didn't want to start any conversation, that would make a scene.
