I am sad.
my hermit crab that i had for a few months has just died.
I named him Sam and we had some great times together.
I would put him on my desk and he would crawl around happily until he reached the edge of the desk and would fall.
But it was ok cuz he had a tough shell to protect him.
I cleaned out his cage yesterday and i noticed his color was a bit pale and he didn't come out as readily as he usually does.
Then today i noticed he didn't move at all today from the spot where he was last night.
So i looked in his shell and he was much farther in than usual and he was a funny pinky color...
then i looked in the cage and saw....DEAD SAM!!!
now i look into Sam's old shell and poke the pinky stuff gingerly....and OMG IT JUST TWITCHED!!!!!
ITS SAM!!! HE"S ALIVE!!!!
That means....he just shed his first shell!
Sweet!
But what i said before, i seriously thought he was dead.
and i really was sad...
but i guess this sad starting story had a happy ending.
IM SO HAPPY NOW!! heart biggrin
I'm gonna keep the old shell/skin and show it to Mr. Bowers, and my mom, and my sister(just to gross her out)!
I cannot express my joy at this! I actully kept a crab alive longer than a month or two!
so Tragedy in LunaWorld is called off xd .
