Fellow Gaians,
I'm sure you're aware of many other avatar based sites out there. Many of you are most likely part of these sites (i know i am). But i was disturbed to find out something about one of these sites i frequent that i wanted some feedback for.
The site in question is menewsha. They are a site dedicated to having discussions and free speech. At least that's what i thought until i saw what i saw.
Some users (who are going to be nameless) have been banend for various minor offences, one instance has to o with one person getting angry at a Moderator and being banned over a trivial argument.
My question is this, does this seem like a site that promotes free speech? or does it seem like internet fascism. Where those who disagree with the MODS (the governing body) are whisked away in the night never to be seen or heard from or spoken of again.
Sure Gaia has it's own set of problems (every site does), but I must admit tha i have never heard of anyone ever beingbanned because of a disagreement between a MOD and a user.
For that, I am thankful.
