I've decided to move my mini-reports to my journal to keep my profile clean and uncluttered :] Feel free to comment! If you have a specific item you want me to look into, please leave a comment :]
Alruna Rose Prediction Explanation:
I second the idea of it being a impure being of the sort -- be it a succubus or whatnot according to the whole idea behind the name "Alruna" derived from Alraune, which is a name for the Mandragora plant.
http://www.experiencefestival.com/a/Alraune/id/1909217
Theres a whole bunch of stuff concerning the name be it fiction or legend. What is interesting is that it supports the whole idea brought up about the item being "unsuitable for young gaians".
Heres a little sneak peek at the article I just provided:
"It was said witches who made love to the Mandrake root however, produced offspring which had no feelings of real love and had no soul."
"Alraune is also the name of an enemy in the popular video game series Castlevania. There, she is portrayed as a naked young woman, with green skin and blonde hair. She is often seated in an oversized flower, most likely a rose. Alraune (as an enemy) is commonly found in the later parts of the castle... In the Nintendo DS game, "Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow", Alraune appears again with the ability to impale with vines and the returning ability to launch roses."
The Castlevania reference amuses me the most because it closely parallels the rose idea. Either way, I'm still siding with the prediction of it evolving into an impure being assuming a feminine form [e.g.: Succubus, noting the bat wings].
Please note that this is just my opinion on the matter :] Be nice, don't bash.
Biancamella Name Derivation Theory:
Although it's already at the final stage, I would just like to add something about the name. It is possible that the name was derived from the name Biancabella -- The name of the princess in a Italian Fairy Tale.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biancabella_and_the_Snake
Heres an excerpt of the most significant information:
A marquis had no children. One day, his wife slept in the garden, and a grass snake slithered into her womb. Soon after, she became pregnant and gave birth to a girl with a snake wrapped about her neck; the midwives were frightened, but the snake slithered off into the garden without harming anyone.
The girl was named Biancabella. When she was ten, the snake spoke to her in the garden, telling her that she was her sister, Samaritana; that if she obeyed her, she would be happy but miserable if she disobeyed; and that she should bring her two buckets, one of milk, one of rosewater. Biancabella was distressed, her mother asked her what made her so sad, and Biancabella asked for the buckets. Her mother gave them to her, Biancabella carried them into the garden, and the snake had Biancabella bath in them. She became even more beautiful, and when her hair was combed it shed jewels, and when her hands were washed, they shed flowers.
According to this, it is quite possible that the name is derived from Biancabella considering the nature of the item -- Rich, Extravangant, and Royal Princess
Dionaesil Prediction Verification
It seems a lot of people are predicting that this will be a plant similar to that of the Venus Flytrap.
Well, the good news is... its highly possible!
The scientific name for the Venus Flytrap is: Dionaea Muscipula
Heres a link to some more information about the Venus Flytrap if interested: http://www.botany.org/carnivorous_plants/venus_flytrap.php
As for the -sil... who knows really! I've yet to find out myself :] So far my feeling is that it has something to do with the standardization of names
Hermes' Moon: Relevance/Connections
I had some time to research the link between the Earth's Moon and the Greek God Hermes, however before I start I'd like to address the Lunar Lakes:
Yes, they are all names for actual "lakes" on the moon -- However, the link between the lakes and the item itself has more to do with the phase of the moon which, in effect, gives us a hint at what the next evolution might be.
A list of Lunar Lakes (A list of the Lunar Seas are also provided under "Atlas" wink : Lunar Lakes (NASA.org)
To be honest, the item should be nearing the end of its phases considering how it has already gone through the "mortis" phase of the moon -- the time when the Moon "disappears" from the sky AKA New Moon. NOTE: By "end of its phases" I mean that the Moon will no longer be dominant aspect of the item.
Alright... now lets move onto the connection between Hermes and the Earth's Moon along with many other things that makes this item interesting.
------------------------
Heres a site that provides background on Hermes: Hermes (theoi.com)
However, direct your attention to this key detail provided in the website:
========== IV. HARE (Greek "lagos" wink
"Hare [constellation Lepus]. Some say that it was put there by Mercurius, and that it had been given the faculty, beyond other kinds of quadrapeds, of being pregnant with new offspring when giving birth to others." - Hyginus, Astronomica 2.33 (theoi.com - direct link to section) ==========
This should explain why the animal we see is a Hare, even though Hermes' animal form is an Ibis (Pic of Ibis). This also creates a connection between Hermes and the Japanese tale of Usagi Tsukino (Rabbit and Moon), which a lot of people are saying to be the idea behind this item.
-------------------------
Another strange thing about this item is that it features the Moon rather than Mercury, the planet which represents Hermes. However, according to neosalexandria.org it has been said that Hermes lives in the moon:
========== Hermes lives in the moon
"For this reason the Egyptians regularly call Typhon 'Seth,' which, being interpreted, means 'overmastering and compelling.' They have a legend that Herakles, making his dwelling in the sun, is a companion for it in its revolutions, as is the case also with Hermes and the moon. In fact, the actions of the moon are like actions of reason and perfect wisdom, whereas those of the sun are like beatings administered through violence and brute strength." - Plutarch, On Isis and Osiris 41 ==========
------------------------
So what significance do all of these bear? Well... for one it explains why the Moon is featured so much as well as the reason why the item revolves around gold (gold scarf, gold wings, and the Moon itself). In addition, it provides us with ideas for upcoming evolutions that directly illustrate Hermes:
- The Heralds Rod of Hermes - Possible "final form" of the item - His famous gold helmet with wings - It is possible that the Moon itself will turn into the helmet! - Winged Sandals (This would be nonsensical considering how this item already exists!)
------------------------
Thats all for now! I'm out of time... however, feel free to indulge in the websites I provided to aid in your predictions for this item!
If this report has failed to provide any important information or inspirations of the sort, then I am sorry in advance.
Orindae -- Explosive Reproduction or Promising Metamorphosis?
There is a high possibility that this item will explode and turn into a mess of green snot-like eggs of which it originated from! Currently its path of growth has paralleled that of the Beezlebufo, a 16 inch prehistoric frog weighing 10 pounds!!!
According to Alice_Bunny, the word Orin translates to Light Green whereas Dae is roots from Leptodactylidae -- a diverse family of frogs.
NPC Dr. Singh has a very negative attitude toward this item so it is doubtful that something good will come of it. However, there is always the possibility. Perhaps it will transform into a dragon or perhaps some other form of reptile or creature all together. A frog experiences many phases of metamorphosis, so even with this doubt in mind it is nevertheless possible.
Final Form Predictions: Swamp Swarm -- Multiple Orindae eggs and frogs swarm your avatar like light green slime. Apparently this is how Orindae reproduce... Yuck! Dragon (or something) -- After several stages of transformation, be it frog to gecko to lizard, it has reached a greater form. Patience is key to beauty, one should not judge one simply by their exterior.
