I believe the Gaia user base can be seperated into categories, based on how they act themselves and how they treat others. Based on one simple question. 'Why do wealthy users treat new users poorly, and will it ever stop?' They way users would answer this question shows what type of gaia user they are.

Users that would give an answer like 'it will never end' or 'that's just how things are' and complacent with the treatment of not only n00bs - n00bs being the group that cyber in towns, beg constantly even after being told to stop and harass wealthier users into giving them items - but all new users.
Both new and older users can fall into this category. These users have probably been poorly treated in the past and have come to expect this type of treatment. Older users have probably stopped caring, while new users no of nothing else. This complacency does nothing of course to rectify the issue.

Another group would answer with something along the line of 'when they stop begging,' Users who mention the begging have probably been begged by a new users for either gold and/or items. When a user starts they have starter clothes, which admittedly is better than nothing, but as soon as they enter the forum they see MC's, CS items, old event items and skins that aren't available anymore. Then they look at their gold count and collectively gonk .
Yes, gold is easier to get on gaia than it once was, but image for a moment you have 250g and you're checking out the MP for the first time, trying to find those cool items that all those other users seem to be wearing, 424,468g for an Ancient Katana, 618,766g for an Angelic Camisole, 815,505g for a Kiki Plushie, then you check out that 250g again. There's that collective gonk again.
Now for us users who've been around a little longer we realize that no goal is impossible as long as you're willing to work for it, but for a new user with only 250g, it's like there's no way to have anything good. Begging may be annoying to the receiver, but think back, I'm sure as eggs are egg shaped that most of you begged or at least asked for stuff before.

Another group is the 'when they stop being illiterate, spell bad or have crap grammar!' Now I wasn't aware that perfect spelling and grammar was in the TOS, because id it is, boy did I miss the fine print!
True we like to be able to understand what the poster is talking about, but does that really mean completely ignore everyone who doesn't wanna whip out the dictionary every time they post. I certainly don't.

Now here's one I actually found in a discussion and it pissed me off no end.



Why does having numbers in your username, classify you as a n00b? I have numbers in my name, oh shock horror, does that mean I automatically hang out in towns and cyber and beg and hump the trees? No, it means I wanted to put numbers in my name. This attitude that assume things of people by their user name, is very wrong. I mean, not to be cruel but what the craps a Fleep? What's Fleep mean!? Most users put a lot of though into their username, some a little less, and some like someone elses name so much they use that and just slap some number on it so they can use it. So why is that wrong? It's not wrong, it's the way of a large internet forum.
