Celebrate Earth Day and Go Green! Earth Day is a great time to remind us why it's important to consider how our everyday actions will affect the environment for years to come. There are so many simple things a person can do to help save our environment and planet.
Recycling is an easy task and can save natural resources and energy. Recycling the most common materials, such as aluminum cans, glass bottles, paper, plastic and steel/tin cans, can help protect our ozone layer, decrease pollution and decrease tree cuttings.
Driving hybrid cars results in less fuel consumption, which in turn addresses the issues of smog and global warming.
Of course making these changes alone are not enough, so I decided to find out which green products people were searching for on AOL Search. As you can see, organic products such as food, cotton, baby products and wine are on the list. Local grocery and retail stores usually stock these organic products, making them easy to obtain.
A great way to save energy by at least 75 percent is to use compact fluorescent bulbs. These work just as well as regular light bulbs but last up to 10 times longer. Other ways to go green is to use cork flooring, organic fertilizer or bamboo clothing.
