Review:
The story of a girl disguising herself as a boy to get close to the guy she loves is anything but original. What makes this series great is its beautiful art, and the characters and their relationships. Not to mention, all the drama and craziness. As they go through the trials and tribulations of high school life, their bond becomes so stong that not even Mizuki's secret can break it. In fact, it makes their bond even stronger. Mizuki's relationship with Izumi is the real key, though. As the series moves along and they become closer, it makes you want to keep reading to see how they end up in the end. Putting aside the drama for now, you have a lot of comedic relief. There's Nakatsu agonizing over Mizuki, Kayashima's random comments on ghosts and auras, and Nakao's narcissim and egoism. So no matter how heavy the story gets , there's always something to lighten the mood. Another thing to look forward to is the story's bitter-sweet ending. The "bitter" part is Mizuki's decision to leave Osaka High and go back home. And the "sweet" part is Mizuki and Izumi's reunion a year later. This series has equal parts of drama, comedy, romance, and it even has sports action and hints of the supernatural. It's a must-have for any shojo manga fan.
