The Hermes' Moon finished evolving last week. I got about 320k out of it after tax. Twice I could have sold it off for 500k+, but no, I had to get greedy and wait until it fully evolved. It could have been much worse though. I was really worried it was going to turn out a complete disaster like the Fausto and I would have to settle for 200k or less, so I'm somewhat relieved it was merely mediocre instead of a complete disappointment. But for ten bucks, I feel that mediocre is just unacceptable.
I invested in a Coco with the money I got from the Moon. I've also bought a Wind Security Blanket and an OMFG over the past week. Prices on all three of those items were down compared to what they were a few weeks ago, so now might be a good time to invest. When prices go up in another month or so, I'll sell all three for humongous profits. I'm seriously thinking about keeping the OMFG though. ^_^
I am also getting a LOT of people begging me for gold and/or items lately. I am not a charity. I am not Santa. Gold is easy enough to earn that I generally don't give stuff to people. If you're a good friend of mine, and you talk to me fairly often, and you're generally nice to me, then if you ask politely, I just might give you what you want if it's not too expensive (no promises). But otherwise, I generally don't just hand stuff out. I made all my gold myself, with nothing more than a loan or two, and so can you.
As some of you may have heard by now, there are new fishing items coming out later this year. You can get them by trading existing fish for them, as with the current hats and other fish items. Word on the street says that some of these items may require as many as 5,000 smalls/3,000 mediums/1,000 larges to obtain. When the new items come out, fish prices are expected to skyrocket. So it may be wise to stock up on fish whenever prices are down. Right now I'm hoping to get 5,000 smalls/3,000 mediums/1,000 larges of each fish from Durem. If I make that goal before the new items arrive, I'll double it.
A new item was released in the Cash Shop. It was the Bag of Win, although it's more commonly known as the Bag of Fail. It handed out massive amounts of gold to a select few users. The price on virtually every MC over 50k shot up by at least ten percent within a few days after it's release. Thank heavens they pulled it just a few days later. I really don't think it handed out THAT much gold, but I think the notion of it scared people enough to raise prices. Once the panic settles I think prices will go down at least a little bit to roughly where they were, maybe a little higher.
Only one new SSBM score to report since my last journal entry:
Classic mode
Ganondorf - 1,412,320 (US record)
Classic total - 36,503,840 (2nd in US)
I missed Ganondorf's world record by less than 10,000 points. And I know I made more than 10,000 points worth of mistakes in that run. I've been trying almost daily to get that world record. I know I can do it.
My MC Lotto is still underway. Buy tickets plz! Tickets are 2/3 sold, so get 'em now before it's too late! =) Be the first bumper in that thread to reach page 50 and get ten free tickets, courtesy r1k(ghost)! ^_^
I also want to remind everyone that the Gaian Slut Event 08 is coming soon! On May 31st, a bunch of users (myself included) will dress our avis like sluts in protest of MTV. I've seen other users protest for different reasons: Some protest because the MTV shop is too obtrusive and cannot be ignored (unlike the other sponsorships). Some protest because of MTV's violent and sexually charged content that goes over Gaia's PG-13ish boundaries. Some are protesting because of the fact that MTV has nothing to do with anime/roleplaying/gaming (more on this in a future journal entry) and thus has no business being on Gaia. Some are participating just because it's an excuse to dress like a slut. domokun So please, join our cause, and dress your avi as sluttily as possible on May 31st! . . .
