In my previous entry (basically my only entry thus far), I briefly mentioned my encounter with the now rather infamous and shortlived Bag of Win. Now, I will jot everything down here in full detail.
I still remember when I decided to begin my new life here on Gaia. My girlfriend had already made herself an account (albeit out of pure boredom one fateful day) and I so decided to do the same, just because I like to share as many interests between the two of us as possible. biggrin
A few days after I "arrived", I was out and about on the site, doing the usual gold gaining when an announcement notice popped up on the top loader. I opened it up to find it containing a message about a brand new limited-time-only item that had just been stocked onto the Cash Shop shelves called the BAG OF WIN.
The description was just too good to be true: the chance to become an instant millionaire with the opening of just one bag. At first, I thought it to be a joke and promptly ignored it.
However, curiousity is a clever foe, to be sure.
Soon enough, I plunked down $25 for a cash card at Target (that also came along with my stripped kitten now-constant travel companion) and decided to test out my luck with this Bag of Win. The price was cheap: only 99 Gaia Cash per bag. I promptly purchased 25 Bags from the shop and, like a child on Christmas Day, opened up each.
The items I received I wasn't so surprised with except for the occasional Mythrill Coin which, along with the other items, I sold back to the shops. I was surprised, however, with the sellback price of most of the items. I managed to gain back, on average, 12,000 gold per sale. Factor in the few high-end Mythrill Coins I received (60,000 gold!!), I managed to make around 350,000 gold in all.
...I was deeply overjoyed. lol
Suddenly, I could now afford most of the wonderful high-end items I have coveted for the brief few weeks I have been on Gaia. However, my tale of fortune does not end here. In my browsing of the Gaian Marketplace, I happened to become curious enough to look at how much those wonderbags of winnnings went for.
...And suddenly, I felt like I had made a grave error in my judgment. What did I discover, you may ask? I shall save that for another day...
Next time in my adventures: Part 2 of my encounter with the wonderful mistake known as the Bag of Win.
