It can work for you or against on so many levels that it'll cause you go nuts and/or paranoid worrying about what will go up in value or drop faster like a rock puppy in a pond.
Take my latest acquisition, the #000000 Complex Jacket, for example.
I thought that at the time its price tag out in the Marketplace was already rather steep (highest price was a bit over 400K at the time). I scrimped and I saved just to be to purchase the sucker and then I tried my luck in the Wanted forums to see if I can shave the price down a bit.
It worked and managed to get my jacket for 335K. mrgreen
But had I not the cash to spend or the willingness to risk haggling in the Wanted forums, I would have been met with surprise and horror as to what I found in the Marketplace today.
...My friggin' jacket had skyrocketed in price once again! Now, highest price is 580,000 gold!! eek
Luck was truly with me that fateday day that I received my jacket. I won't be selling it back anytime soon since I need it for a costume (that and I worked hard to get it when I did). However, just knowing that inflation caused the price of my precious jacket to go up as high as it did in the amount of time that it did is enough to unnerve me just the slightest.
Hurrah for 50 gold, BTW. mrgreen
