BLESSED KINGDOM

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull is very respectable continuation of Indiana Jone series, even if few of plot details didn't make sense. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg outdid themselves again, crafting an exciting movie with enjoyable cast of characters and large sense of nostilga.

Few of action sequences are fanboy's wet dreams with satisfying stuntworks and witty dialogues leaving me begging for more. IMO, the jungle action sequence is perhaps the best in entire series, nailing on the climatic sensation leading to the interesting plot-driven final moments of the film.

my few gripes is that there are few noticeable flaws. Twice that Indy Jones survived the harsh odds seems rather goofy and unrealistic, though it really easy to shrug them off since rest of film is engrossing and immersive. My other complaint is that despite Spielberg's promise with minimal use of CGI, the computer imagery usages are still heavily noticeable throughout the film, sadly undercutting the authentic feelings. Despite the overused CGI works, its works with visual artistic direction and intense action sequences, so uses of CGI is forgivable.

At the final moments of the film is what concern me because the certain plot details might alienate Indy Jones' fans because it didn't really follow the "paranormal" traits found in other films. In my opinion, I thought it is very slightly odd yet Spielberg and Lucas managed to make the film works, keeping what made other films successful while developing its own identity with new villians, locations, characters, and "paranormal" activities.

Even if Indy IV is a success in its own right, this film tied with "The Last Crusade" as second best Indiana Jones movie. The best remain with "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and I don't think it will ever be bested. "Kingdom of Crystal Skull" came close, even if it still great. GO WATCH IT!!!
