Brown eyes, brown fade...its the same face I've seen for nearly three years now. There is nothing special about it. It has a nose, two eyes, a mouth, cheeks, ears, eyebrows and eyelashes, and freckles to put it all into a neat, little frame. He goes to high school, third year student. He enjoys art and literature because it helps him express what he feels inside. His grades are average and it would help if he did not always doodle in his sketchbook. His dress code was filled with the latest fashions but he was not materialistic. His likes and dislikes were average. Likes=music. Dislikes stupidity, but who doesn't?
This is the person that most people see. But not me, because there is always something buried under the surface. So I went digging, and I found....
...a handsome young man of seventeen with bright, intelligent eyes, and a passion for self-expression through his abstractions - Graffiti, portraits, comics, color.
At first, I admit, I didn't really take a liking to him, but by spending a decent quantity of time with him, I discovered that he was built with best friend potential - understanding, caring, kind, and honest (I mean he really didn't sugarcoat anything). In our relationship, we understand when the other needs space, or when and how to approach a particular situation because, he says, "Jasmene, you understand how my mind works." I was flattered because I didn't really try to understand, it just came naturally, and I was happy to say that he understands me too.
Young Ace (as we affectionately call him) has an eye for art, and his goal is to find the ultimate beauty in life. When he has a pencil in his hand there is so much passion, and calculation in his eyes. I was surprised at first because not many people would have guessed that he like to put color to paper and in another person's life. He has revealed that there are not many people he can trust, because like me, he has had a rough time. His daughter has become the light in his life, his world and his treasure, and I've only grown to respect him more because of this. What I admire about him the most is that whatever emotion he feels, he always remains the same Mathew, even when I do know something bothers him.
