I WAS RIGHT! WHY, OH WHY COULDN'T I BE WRONG?! T_T [Rant]
As the title suggests, I was right. It did hurt... It hurt a whole lot... I don't think I'll be the same for at least a month after that...

For anyone who is scratching their head right now, I stated in my last entry that I was planning on playing FFX2 after finishing FFX. I also stated in an edit of the aforementioned entry that I had finished FFX with ease.

Well, yesterday at about 6 PM, I popped FFX2 into my Playstation2... At about 7:30 PM, I was catatonic. Now... I would not call the story of FFX great... But it was good and never failed to draw me in emotionally. Naturally, I would like to know what happens next. But...... Well....... Damn...... I just can't do it. FFX2 is what I would imagine to be the product of gathering a bunch of teenage girls together in a room, feeding them nothing but pixie sticks and telling them to hammer out a video game before the month is out. I forced myself to sit through this girl power drivel for an hour and a half, hoping that some semblance of its predecessor's integrity would shine through at some point. I saw faint glimmers, but that was it...

FFX's script wasn't very well written, but the story was good. FFX2...........it's bad.........It sucks on levels that I would not have previously dreamed imaginable. Not to mention, the game mechanics are almost as bad as the story. Moving around in the world is ok, but that's where it ends. The battle system is horrible... Makes me want to hang myself by my controller cable... Seriously...

But I still want to know what happens next in the story. Not because I'm curious about the events of FFX2. That would give it far too much credit. I want to know more because I was never given closure on whether or not Tidus still exists. That was the clincher in the first game. Yuna tells Tidus that she loves him, they embrace for the last time and he leaps from the ship and fades away in the sea of clouds. Then Yuna addresses the people of Spira and we discover that she has come to accept the disappearance of her love. That is the logical cutoff point for the game. But no, Square decides to show a scene of Tidus curled up and surrounded by water and pyreflies. Then he stretches, opens his eyes and swims upward. Now, they could have animated this scene for the hell of it, but knowing Square like I do, there is a deeper significance to this. All I want to know is if the guy exists or not and, if so, does it have any significance at the end of FFX2? I suppose I'll just have to look up a game script and find out. I certainly will not be playing any more of FFX2...

I wonder what Squall is up to... Perhaps I should pop in FFVIII... Damn, what is with me wanting to play these 60+ hour RPGs lately? I've beaten them all... Perhaps there's something wrong with my head... *shrugs*

Well, I did not mean for this to turn into a rant, but it seems to have become such. I suppose I should affix a "rant warning" label to the title. Damn... Won't fit. I suppose just "rant" will do. There! All better! ^_^ See ya next time I feel like updating this thing. Don't let my foot hit your a** on the way out. ^_~
