A thud upon the floor
I lay facing an open door
Blood pools around my bleeding head
My eyes are closong I'm an inch from dead
A strange man is in my house
I struggle to the phone, I want to call my spouse
Every second my life is drained
Drops of blood fall, every breath is pained
I hear a bang as the strange man comes back
I shudder and feel my muscles go slack
I take a breath and let out one last scream
I scream for my life, to continue to dream
My husband runs in just as I scream
He blinks at me and wishes that it is a terrible dream
He grabs the theif and quickly knocks him out
He calls the police and my name he continues to shout
He leaves the phone and sits at my side
He holds me tight and prays I haven't died
I close my eyes and fight to live
I try my hardest but eventually I give
I hear him give a shout as I take my final breath
And slowly his voice fades as I take the hand of Death
I can see him now crying over my lifeless body
I wish that I didn't die so that he's have somebody
~Authors note~
I don't know what inspired this one, although I do know I was insanely depressed at the time and I was crying when I wrote it.
