My Only Journal
I don't keep a real journal, so this is where I record my thoughts. Some of it is pretty odd sounding, so read at your own risk :P
The game, it is a-changin... but not at the top.
I hereby declare this a rant about the new Yugioh ban list, circa sept 1, 08.
Okay, I know we have to follow Japan's lead with the banlist, but in order to be fair, ude needs to start releasing sets at the same time in north america as in japan. They limit DAD and JD because they've been rampaging for six months WITH the duelist genesis synchro stuff. We however are getting flattened repeatedly by glad beast, a deck that pretty much doesn't exist in japan (as a top deck, at least).
I think glad beast needs a nerfing, but that doesn't happen. Ude will make the banlist based on the japan metagame and ruin every competitive deck EXCEPT glad beast. Glad beast has won every event in the last four months across the globe, and they don't touch it. In fact they take the decks that aren't winning, and make them weaker. DAD has seriously been weakened by losing disk commander and premature, lightsworn hasn't really made an impact yet, but now it probably won't after losing one JD, and just as zombie was thinking about making a comeback, they take one card of safe away. And what stays at full power? Glad beast. Losing premature barely phases it. I thought that they should put bestiari at one, so that the deck could only play four instead of nine, and limit solemn judgment too. No such luck.
Its clear to me that the next four months will be exactly like the last four: dominated by glad beast. I look forward to the day when glad beast falls, and not by a fluke. I want to be there, maybe even playing the deck.

"Eyes forward, my young apprentice. The future awaits."
