My birthday was f-f-fun? Yea.. I actually had a birthday for once. I won't go into details, but this was probably my best birthday ever.

Though, I really don't have much to compair it to. All through elementary school, my birthday parties were lame. I'd invite all the people from school who had invited me to their birthday parties over the years and we'd do the pizza and cake thing... but somehow, something would always go wrong. Like one year, I forgot to invite my best friend (Sorry Gladys!) and another year my cousin brought her friend who hated me. And one year my mom's garlic pizza made me sick and I spent half of my own party puking in the downstairs bathroom.

So I guess I just began to dread my birthday and wish that it would never happen, and I could secretly grow older without the embarassment of a birthday. After my mom died, it was easier because my dad would forget about it.

But this year was different and I love my friends for making it so. heart

My running has gotten worse. On Thursday (my brithday) I hurt my ankle at gym and couldn't run after school durning practice so I finally managed to by Coach V his soda. But even though the day off was good for my ankle, my body hates me for it. I did manage to get my four speed changes in last night's run, but with way too much effort. I do love running... more than band. (The class... not the musical aspect of it.)

I believe our meet is on a Tuesday, again... Which means, more consecutive days of early mornings.

Our football game was interesting. It was half an hour away, at my least favorite field. A few of our alumni were there (Alumni who I haven't seen for quite a while.) and they all had the same feelings about our new band director as I did. I am officially the new band b***h because I made people tuck in their shirts at out morning function and I made people dance and cheer at the football game. I don't understand how wanting the band to look and sound good makes me a b***h, but oh well. It's a title I openly accept, because it means that I will have the power to make the mob of pissy highschoolers into a marching band. We will never be respectable, because of where we're from, but I think that we should still try to be the best we can. It's frustrating and I hate having people hate me, but I hate being embarassed more... and being nice just doesn't cut it.

I think I'm done being nice for the rest of my life. I honestly don't feel like doing it anymore. My dad says it was probably just a faze I was going through. It was kind of nice, but I am sick and tired of people walking all over me, telling me my opinions are wrong, my beliefs are stupid and that I should always agree with them and do what they want to do.

In the end, it just isn't worth it.

Anyway... we never got to do our show. When we were warming up, it started to sprinkle and there were a couple flashes of lightning. Then, as we marched up to get on the field, thunder boomed and the lightning picked up so we all just retreated to the bus and came straight home. I was going to go to Dunkin' Doughnuts, but instead went to my friend's birthday party... which I'm glad I did. blaugh

But yeah, that's what I've been up to.
