In the Mind from the Wander of Stars....
Looking into my mind... and into my day.
ONE YEAR ON GAIA OMGWTFBBQ!11!1
As the title reads, it's my one eyar anniversay on Gaia. My avatar is one years old and my name has yet to change.

Ha HA! Dangly parts...

Let's see, a recount of all my time here. The fateful days of Barton Town for me. Not to mention I would hang around chatterbox a day or two, just for the bars. BECAUSE I DON'T SPAM LIKE THE REST OF YOU DID! ><

@_@ What? Oh yeah... Barton Town.

Dedication was a must if you wanted to go anywhere. Also, I was still fairly new to Roleplaying in general, having lines instead of paragraphs. I'd say that there was one RP that I'll never forget, and it's one of the only ones I finished.

Moonlight Castle. Don't be tested by the name, it's not some kind of Sailor moon RP. In truth, it was far from it. The creator set it up and left no plot to it, having the entire gang of us sitting around helplessly at the foyer. Playing as Airez, I took time to explore a bit while a user name Moonstar (her name changed) followed after me in cat form. Down the hall and by the staircase.

And the entire RP changed immediately.

After a battle with a beast, I became GM of the Roleplay. And I ahd it all thought out in my head. A basic plot and a on-going goal. To escape the castle by some means. I still cherish what I managed to accomplish with that one RP, having went with 151 pages of pure golden Roleplaying that I dearly adore. It may have not been the greatest of RPing, but it was 'literate'. And it was finished, something few RPs can manage.

Next around was Nef'Rel, a still going RP that has gone on and on, until this very day. I was one of the generals, and some authority. It was perhaps the first advnaced RP I was in, and I learned much from it. Joseph is a great guy and I always like talking about games with him. Krissie too, having gone under her GM-ship. There are very few RPs out there that could even MATCH with the level of organization she put into it. Heck, she even had people whining about the RP information being too great.

Unfortunately, it died down slightly after Joseph took a break, yet still goes on strong from what I see. And is one of the most advanced RPs out there.

As for my next RP, it was Pheonix Village. The place where I had my first romances. And where I met the love of my life, Orphne (Mia).

Ahh and it also began my devious flirtacious idiocy >3 but enough about that.

It lasted a good 400 or so pages if I remember right. Maybe not that many but I don't really remember it too much. Mainly on the account of the Pheonix Knights guild. A rag-tag batch of RPers that were more literate than a bunch of the trash you see in Barton Town these days. Lines were REQUIRED instead of recommended. The organization of that guild was heavenly. Not to mention the fact that I learned a great deal of my RPing skills in that place. Paragraphs became a norm for me when I finished the first time around. I made my first 10+ paragraph post in there at the very end as the first guild died down.

With it gone, it was sad but we had to let it go for the time being.

Then came the place known at Breedables. My hangouts were now shifted to a whole new part of Go-Gaia (original name). Puri pets, something that everyone who is anyone knows about. They were the cutest little things and were by FAR the most popular pets around, second only to Faekats perhaps. It it was my introduction into the sub-forum, and where I met many of those I still know to this day.

Oh the days where there was no drama in breedables, just good clean fun. There were no Elites; there were no copy-cats; there were no problems for the most part. '04 if kind of where that all started.

I began to expand my thoughts to other shops, and finally came upon the Reju. Precious Flame; Didn't know her, didn't really even know of her art skills. Probably didn't really care at the time either. All I did seem to care abotu was the fact that her art looked awesome. Little did I know how popular that one pet was going to get.

And I managed to get one. Shen was my first pet, and is still my favorite.

And I suppose I became known as the guy with the Reju, or something like that. I earned some good reputation and some bad reputation, yet I really didn't care too much about prominence when it came down to Breedables. To me, it was all about the roleplaying, something I enjoyed dearly. Shen was a pet I could take everywhere and it gave me recognition, as well as a number of PMs. Crazy times with that Reju of mine.

I received pets from other shops and bought new ones here and there. Many of which are dead now and never saw their peak. Nessie, Lakael, and a few others here and there.

Oh and Pheonix KNights were reborn once more. And more drama was placed in my online life than ever. Three-way triangle for the love of my character. It can be a real hassle when it comes down to the guy/girl ratio on Gaia. And Orphy-love returned. <3

Bigger than ever, the RP flourished and I began making new friends. We were more organized with the whole Council being around. Ryu, Rose, Kira, Orphy, and myself. A close knit batch of friends. Til this very day, I still keep in touch with the good majority of them. And luff em all to pieces.

And there was the Doushikai. A small clique of people that ended up molesting just about everyone that was around. Known as the Dou crew, a bunch of Yaoi loving gaians that adored Ogre's art, as well as sitting around together and having all sorts of mischeivous fun with each other. From Hentai carpets to rolling eggs that could get around. So much perversion in that thread, and of so much fun.

I miss the Dou Crew. Hopefully it'll ressurect some time.

Around this time, early 2004, the drama of breedables began and word of Elites and such spread like wild-fire. Different groups were set up and different cliques. People talked behind others backs and heard rumors of themselves. Really, it wasn't too much different than real life with all the crap that was thrown around. People would argue in different threads and became angsty in just about every place possible. It was really annoying to see but I jsut pushed it off and stayed with my happy little attitude. Some may have thought it stupid, but at least I wasn't whining like a little kid while bringing whole threads down with some depressing story.

Mm now what came next... Bleh, I get more pets and many died off. What can I say? It happens and always will happen.

I suppose Chrysthalls came next. One of my main hangouts now a days. It's goign strong and holds the pet of mine knonw at Sharak, my first MAJOR RPing pet. Honestly, it puts many of the journal pets to shame and doesn't even require a journal of it's own. Just pages of RP in on a daily basis. Tis one of my most favorite areas and I enjoy my time there.

Which pretty much leads me back to Barton Town, a place I sometimes frequent these days out of boredom. What I saw sickened me, really. Literate? Slave threads? Party Threads? What the heck was all this junk doing in the place I used to go to every day? Since when did we label the skills of others with words like 'literate' and 'advanced'? When on Gaia did we DO THAT?

Barton Town had become sickeningly transformed into a rabid pool of newbies and noobs, not too different from when I first came around but not in this fashion. They turned Barton town into the friggin PERSONALS!!

But... whining wouldn't do anything. I had to try and make it better than it was. Try to rectify the mistakes people made and try to transform it into something more like it was in the old days. The Barton Forest was a pinnacle of an RP, but these forest threads were rediculous. There were no more plots, just casual RPing that died off at 10 or so pages.

I couldn't help but feel discouraged by the way Go-Gaia turned. It was changing from it's old days to that of Gaiaonline. Still, I stayed and enjoyed it. I saw it as a game and decided thats what it was. Respect those and get respect.

I am an olbie now, a person that knows the ropes and has the knowledge to help others.

Might as well do that eh? I'm still going to enjoy talking to people and playing the game. I'mnot going to gripe about the battle system cause I'm looking forward to it. I'm not going to whine about Gaia turning into more like a game, because I'm looking forward to that. I'm not going to be a complete a**, because I don't want to be seen as one.

I'm going to be Airez, the fun-loving guy that tries to make people smile.

Luv ya Gaia, change all you want. I'll be right there with you.

It is absolutely amazing that you remember all of that. @.@

Anyway... *clings to another oldbie* It feels odd, knowing that I can look back, and realize how much has changed. For good and for bad. I don't look back a lot, but your recounting of your history really brought back some memories, though you took a different path than I did.

Thanks. <3
