Amongst the forgotten,
Tendrils of shadow
Pour into my blackened mind.
P O I S O N.
Vague memories of
A life with smiles,
Of easy joy.
Back to agony,
Images lost on
My broken lips.
T H I R S T.
Skin chapped and broken
Arms locked inside
White-cotton insanity.
Bound by visions
They touch my
Crazily damaged smile.
P A I N.
Gentle touches, strokes
Meant to bring comfort,
Instead increasing agitation.
Bite back the scream
Wanting to break my chest.
The voices are taunting.
F E A R.
Candy coated promises
Followed by crimson tears
Little treats down a dry throat.
Insane sounding laughter,
Foreign to my ears and yet
So terribly, terribly familiar.
T H R E A T S.
They summon me,
Them with their wiles.
The sirens are calling!
Legs plastered together,
Laced by spasms and terror.
Picture their glee!
T O R T U R E.
Self inflicted contusions,
Little do they know
Voices are not so still.
Little cord of red,
Dangling like a medal
Before blood-shot eyes.
D E A T H.
An easy escape
They told me I'd
Be safe with them.
