Manda hit the brakes. A couple of items went flying across the car.
"OK! Get out ! Get out! If Mr.Shovelbird sees that I'm late ...OH boy your dad will have to hire a new baby - sitter!" Alice slowly got out of the truck and was escorted to her class. Manda ran over to a tree and shouted " Matt! You didn't wake me up!" A blond hair kid looked up shouted and ran for the school entrance. Matt ran into a girl walking by. He got and was about to say something and stared in horror.
"YOU!" Matt said.
"That's a nice thing to say" said the girl, " And my name is not 'YOU' it's Art!" She turned around angrily grabbed her fallen cane and walked swiftly to her class. Manda grabbed Matt by the ear and dragged him to their class.

Art walked down the large hallway of Romose School's middle school classes. She ran into her classroom and Mrs. Rinka's voice rang out "We have a new student..Alice tell us about yourself!"
"Hello" came a voice "I am Alice Darkword. I live with my mother and Th-father. I am the heir to DakLore or I think I am."
"Good!" shouted Mrs.Rinka " You can sit by Art!" Alice walked over slowly to the desk next to Art and sat. Art's "gaze" shifted as with Alice's. An odd bond was made between the two opposites. They were both chosen for the wrong thing. The one of darkness was put in light and the one of light was put in darkness.

Matt rubbed his ear as he sat down by his friend Hailey.She giggled.
"Got beat up by your little sister again?" Hailey asked haughtily. Hailey had blazing orange hair and deep green eyes. She was slightly tan.
"No!" Matt shouted only to be silented by Mr.Shovelbird's glare. "I took her on! She should have been late! She should have turned on her alarm clock!" Hailey just shook her head and giggled again.
"Attention!" said Mr.Shovelbird, "Pop Quiz!" Everybody groaned. "Silence!" said Mr.Shovelbird. "This is a top rated school and top rated schools give Pop Quizes!"
"Or so you say.." murmured Matt crackling up his classmates. Mr.Shovelbird slammed a quiz on Matt's desk. Matt gulped and took out his pencil. Manda smiled across the room victoriously.
"I studied in advance!" said Manda , "Unlike someone I know..." She took out a pencil and a eraser. She rushed through the quiz eraser shavings in the air.

The bell rang and the kids were let out. Matt rushed to Art and said "YO-Art!"
"Yes? Mart was it?"
"No ...Matt.." Alice heard the mummers and stopped by the conversation and said, "Schools letting out you better go..."
"Fine Newbie..!" shouted Matt a little agitated. The gates closed as the last kid left the school. A shadowy figure looked out one of the school's windows and said "Soon....Soon.."
