I'm pretty sure you guys know who Mr. Martinet is. If not, let me give you a clue: he voices Mario and Luigi. (I think he also voices Wario.)

Now, why speak about him? Well, you see, it all started today when I went to buy some jeans at Torrid...

3:25 PM. I was exploring the downstairs Gamestop in the SR mall. I was looking at the used DSes...and I saw one with what looked like blue sharpie writing on it. Somebody wrote on their DS? And they're selling it? I looked closely at the writing. "Mama mia! Woohoo! Mario." And there was a signature at the lower right corner of the top screen. I couldn't read it.

Then I looked next to it. There was a paper with Martinet's picture on it, and a message written out to someone named Mike: "Mike! Mama mia! You da best!" The bottom was signed both Mario and...Charles Martinet.

I looked at the DS again. $99.99. I stared blankly for a minute, then went upstairs to the Macy's.

3:28 PM. I sent out a text to several people reading "OH MY GOD. A DS SIGNED BY CHARLES MARTINET FOR $100."

3:35. Uneasy.

3:38. Walk into Macy's to find mom. Beg for cash. Promise to pay her back with my birthday money when I get it from my brother.

3:42. I walk out and back to the GameStop.

3:43. I ask for the DS. The employee tells me it's been in the case forever. I shakily reach for my wallet and pull out the money.

3:44. I walk out of the GameStop with a Nintendo DS Lite signed by none other than Charles Martinet, and a note for some guy named Mike.

Today was good.
