In just about every Pikachu cosplay I've ever seen, there is always some flaw or some deformity that just doesn't make it a perfect cosplay. Not only is it over done and continues to be cosplayed, but I am noticing a huge percentage of contestants that are using items that don't even work with the cosplay at all. Here's what I know.
The most popularly used eye's for the Pikachu cosplay are "the Oculus Mythica" (Old-Cartoon eyes). Nearly 4 out of 16 of the people who have entered as this cosplay have used these eyes.
The most popular and most over done use of all tails for the Pikachu cosplay is the "Year of the Rooster" tail. More people have been using this as a tail because it is the most affordable for those who don't have a lot of gold and are desperate to enter as a Pikachu cosplay. About 6 out of 16 people have used this tail in their Pikachu Cosplay.
The most commonly used hair, would be the "Girl's Gentle Curls Blonde" (Dark).
7 out of 16 female Pikachu cosplayers use this hair style. I don't know why, but I think it's because they like Michiko's style of hair and choose to copy her when they could have gone with several other optional hair style that would have made their cosplay a little more original.
The most popular use for ears would most definitely be the "Hermes' moon" (Golden Leaf Ears).
More then 10 out of 16 of the people who cosplayed as Pikachu used these ears because they are the most accurate ears you can get to as Pikachu ears. Although it is pricey... others have also settled for the "Topaz Galaxy Headset", "Deluxe Cat ears" or "Enchanted Strings" (Golden Notes). The flaw with those choices though is that it doesn't look right and imperfects the cosplay. When you enter the Cosplay Arena, your basic goal idea is to match your reference image if given and to be some what original.
 In my opinion, the most perfected and original Pikachu cosplay besides myself and Pikachew, would be the "OMG, Pikachu Killed Ash" cosplay. I only say this because she added expression and tried to be humorous unlike the rest who were just going for a common Pikachu just standing there doing noting or just shooting sparks. *Which is very common* There are a few imperfections with this cosplay, but it beats most of the majority of amateurs that don't know where to start with the Pikachu Cosplay.
To let you all know who are reading this, Pikachu can not be any more perfected then it already has been. So if you see me snooping around your Pikachu entry, don't expect me to tell you it's original or awesome. I'll just laugh at it and give it a 1/5.
