The smell of death loomed in the air. Bodies lay scattered across the battlefield, torn and bloody. Cobra gripped his sword tighter, standing shoulder to shoulder with his remaining allies. "Hold your positions, do not fall back!" shouted the leader of the massacred army. Sweat poured from Cobra's sweat and blood soaked face. " What is that?" shouted somebody pointing towards the sky above their heads.
"Arrows! Raise your shields!" screamed the leader. Cobra and his comrades raised their shields over their heads. The thudding of arrows was tremendous. There must have been hundreds, maybe thousands of arrows raining down upon them. Cobra heard a few of his allies shriek in terror as they were stricken with arrows. Then the stampede of enemies racing towards them. Cobra and his allies braced for the impact.As shield and shield collided Cobra was pushed back a little. Fending off the enemies with his sword they slowly began to push back. Cobra ducked low and slashed at the enemies feet, dropping him. Cobra noticed that his army had spread out more and were slowly taking control, despite being outnumbered. Just then a force sent Cobra down to the ground, catching him off guard. An axe came flying down at him. Cobra raised his shield and blocked the attack. He kicked the man attacking him in the stomach and as he stumbled back, he stood up and swung his sword at him. Then man blocked and swung back. Cobra ducked and swung low, hoping to cleaver his legs clean off. The man jumped back, barely avoiding the attack. As cobra started to swing again, a spear pierced the man's chest. He dropped to the ground, twisting and moaning in agonizing pain. Blood leaked onto the ground, forming a pool around the fallen man. The war continued for awhile afterward. Cobra and most of his allies came out alive, and not mortally wounded. "quite the fight, huh?" said the Leader laying down his sword and shield on a nearby rock. " we'll have stories to tell when we get back home." Cobra said,
laying down in the sand, exhausted and worn out.
