The Christmas spirit twinkles
yet fills my eyes with tears,
as I sit here and realize
it's been over 6 years.
My daddy left me
and this earthly home.
He's off in the heavens to eternally roam.
As luck would have it,
he left his best in me;
from his wealth, good looks,
his charm, his wit
to his "evil eye" gene.
I am his son and so much
am I like my dad. However
I will always cherish what little
time that we had.
But long before leaving
his home here on earth,
I gained from his values
of pride and self-worth.
So many happy memories
does dull this pain,
and eases my mind and soul
until that day I die and
I'm with my daddy again.
