I can't believe it! I went on my first hunting trip and had a blast! We went rabbit hunting this time. The guy I was with, Dillion, wouldn't give me a gun for my first time, but I had to stay behind him the whole time. We only caught one rabbit today out of the four we saw. Dillion kept missing this time, but the first rabbit that he missed was mostly my fault. I didn't stay behind him far enough and he was afraid I was in the way. It was my fault he missed. By then, I learned to stay behind him and move when he moved. I felt in the way until I helped him find the rabbit. He told me that I had better eyesight than he did. He wouldn't have seen the rabbit if I hadn't told him because it went into the brush pile from behind and left the dog in it's tracks. He ran and I kept up, he stopped and I moved behind him, the rabbit ran out of the hole and I yelled, Dillion pulled the trigger and I went and got the rabbit. I really had fun today! Dillion made me fire his 12 gage, thinking I was going to back down or something. I hit the small target that was smaller than our rabbit that he had placed about 100 feet away. He told me to fire again since it had landed on it's smaller side and I hit it again. He was shocked and I was having fun. He took the gun and we went back to put the cleaned rabbit in salt water. I can't wait till next time we go. I'm getting my own gun.
