Too young to know:

Butterflies in your stomach, slowing of the heart at the sight of them or during a kiss, a peaceful feeling envelopes you, their hand just seems to fit the small of your back or her arms are just right around your neck, you lay next to them at night and wake up and can't help but smile (you're heart jumping) as you watch them sleep, at times you think of them and you just want to cry cause you are THAT happy...

Common symptoms... of what? Love. That ancient thing that everyone at least once in their life... and some actually find it. Yet everyday someone will hear these words... "Your too young to know."

What does that mean? Too young to know. Why?

"You've been in so many relationships you wouldn't know..."
Well... if someone has been in so many relationships... after feeling all those different feelings with all those people. When they meet that one person who makes them feel DIFFERENT... don't you think they would know that when they say it's love... they mean it?

And what is too young? I'm 18 years old... I've been in 9 relationships (a relatively small number compared to most of my friends), but the guy I'm with now I have been with for almost two years. Everything with him is different, everything feels... right. Yet I'm am told by say (a 30 year old?) that I am too young to know what love is, but at the same time I have heard a 60 year old woman tell a 30 year old she can't know she's in love. Why? Cause she is too young.

So when are you not too young to know? When are you old enough to know? Does it matter? Or is "You're too young to know." just a ploy? A simple sentence used by those who never found love and do not want to see anyone else have it? A sentence of guilt and doubt by those who have always said they love their spouse/significant other, but seeing other "love birds" wonder why they are not like that and if what they really feel is love? A sentence used by those who feel jealousy because they too are in love but it's one sided? Or is it possibly a dying saying? A saying started who knows how long ago and the idea that you don't know your in love till your married is still carrying on?

So again I ask. When are you not too young to know?
