Yep yep yep, also known as, "So Long Mr. Despair" this show....ROCKED!
It took me a long time to finish watching the entire series because of school and stuff lol. But yeah this was truely an awesome anime. The art was modern and cool, the story was always different, and the characters we all funny and unique. razz I'd categorize this as a comedy anime because this show uses a lot of references, i mean A LOT! Plus they mention the things and rules in life like how society acts or different steriotypical people, and what makes sense in this world. It's very clever. And it;s more of a everyday life show, not a story. Although it has its share of fanservice which i try to ignore in the show, and if you're looking for romance, it ain't happening in this show lol. And there were times where i wished it did lol. Don't get me started on the little real life pictures of the bald guy in glasses everywhere. i think he's the creator of the show.
ANYWAYS! xp This show is about a high school teacher named, Itoshiki sensei. But if you read his name differently it reads, "Zetsubou sensei" hahahaha xd awesome. And this guy's personality is...well lets say unhopeful. If that's even a word lol. He makes everything seem like there's no hope, and he's very negative towards life. But in the first episode when it looks like he's trying to hang himself, a girl named, Kafuka, who turns out to be his student, finds him and stops him. And that's where it all begins. mrgreen In the show you'll see him teaching his class full of different characters, and see each how each of them add to the lesson of each episode.
CHARACTERS!!!!!! And there are a lot....
Itoshiki Sensei: Otherwise known as, ZETSUBOU SENSEI! lol, He is a man who can only see everything in a negative light. And when he's in despair he'll get all dramatic and say, "I'm in despair!" And say what makes him get in despair. lol Such a funny little man. Quite cute too. >.< blaaahh lol. In the beginning this guy tries to hang himself a lot, and says he wants to die but it never happens lol. He's teaches his students about the life's society and the negatives in it. I guess....ok this is really hard to explain lol. So anyways, he has a wealthy background and comes from a rich family. He has 3 bros that look like him, a sister and a nephew. And he's always wearing the same kind of clothing. You'll only see him in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt once lol. He has no affection towards his students, who show him their affection lol. But he's cool. yeah lol. "Her positive way of thinking is horrifying" he said about Kafuka.
Kafuka: My favorite character! She is a girl who sees everything in a positive light. Itoshiki's opposite in the show. She is a student in his class and brings optimism and interesting facts to his lectures. She's that happy go lucky girl, with an annoying squeaky voice lol. In the show, i believe she has a little dark side. Apparently she disguises herself as a young college student who brings meals to itoshiki sensei's home. It's kinda weird lol. but i support Itoshiki X Kafuka pairing, even though it's wrong lol.
Chiri: Ugh, i hate this chick lol. She's the one that wants Itoshiki sensei the most. And she talks about how things should be proper in life. Like the proper way. Lol, they say that her hair style is strange because she parts it in the middle. I don't get it lol. She's psycho too. She takes a shovel and i guess kills people who get in her way lol. But things go back to normal lol. Ummm, yeah. She acts like the class represenative but she isn't.
Meru: My 2nd favorite charater. She's the 2nd shortest girl in the class, her hair is so cute cause she has it in pigtails. Oh lol, she's the girl with the cell phone. She texts mean comments in her e-mails about what's going on and they're so true lol. She's a e-mail bully or something. And she doesn't talk, only text lol.
Tsunetsuki: Otherwise known as, the stalker girl! Every guy she's fallen for, she stalks him. And when she fell for sensei, she wanted to stalk him. And that's what she does for the rest of the series...stalk him. She follows him around, and she barely speaks in the show. Also, she tries to dress like him. It's funny. Sometimes i wished she would just stop stalking him so much lol.
Komori: lol, aww she has the cutest voice lol. Anyways, this girl is a Hikikomori. Which means, she is a person suffering from acute social withdrawal. She never goes outside, she always stays indoors. In the beginning, she stayed in her room untill they convinced her to stay at the school. And that's where she was the whole series. Sometimes you see her in the places they go, like Itoshiki sensei's house in closets lol. yeah, she's very soft spoken and is always under that blanket.
Chie: She's the guidance counselor at the school. She doesn't appear much later on in the series. Yeah....lol. I like her hair style.
Kaere: Fanservice girl! And from another country. Lol, apparently she has 2 personalities. One that's strict and says she'll sue for lsexual harassment and looking up her skirt. And the other justs deliberately is fanservice all over lol. Evertime her skirt lifts up -_- mehh, i expected for her to wear shorts underneath to throw the audience off but, that never happened lol.
Maria: Adorable, the shortest girl in the class. Also looks too young to be in high school. She's the immigrant, refugee girl. She immigrated into Japan illegally i think? I dunno lol. And she collects stuff, kinda makes her look poor, and everyone in the class feels like they have to take care of her, it's actually sweet really. But she's a spontaneous, jumpy girl.
Kobushi: Always in bandages and casts. Everyone thinks she was abused by her father at home and that's why she's always in bandages and in casts but, the truth is...it's because of her job! She works at a zoo because she loves animals, especially their tails. And when she tries to pet or pull an animal's tail, she gets hurt. Yeah lol.
Fujiyoshi: The otaku fangirl! Lol, i know a lot like her the most because they can relate. But more specifically she's not just any otaku, she's an otaku for anime yaoi and manga. Ewwww lol. Yeah yeah, so she also draws her own manga and talks about pairings. She watches a lot of anime and reads a lot of manga. She sells her stuff at this con in Japan.
Nami Hito: The "normal" girl. yes, everyone declares her to be normal. She's not any all unique, just average. And she gets upset about it and tries to do something not normal but ends up being normal anyways...understand? lol surprised
Majiru Itoshiki: Sensei's kid nephew. He looks like a mini version of him, he's so cute. And he later on hangs out with Komori in the series. i think he has a crush on her lol.
Rin Itoshiki: Sensei's sister. If you read her name differently it says, Miss Peerless. I still don't understand what that means. I looooove her hair, long and wavey at the bottom.
Usui: This boy in the class who is the class representative, but no one notices him. When he parts his half balding hair, he's not invisible anymore. But he doesn't like his hair, i feel sad for him. But he's perverted too so who cares! lol
Kodoku: Another boy in the class, the good story teller. He tells stories really well.
Mikoto Itoshiki: One of sensei's brothers. He's a doctor! If you read his name differently it says, Doctor Death lol. Oh man that is golden.
Kei Itoshiki: I don't know much but he's a painter. yep.
There are more characters but i don't remember all their names lol.
So there you have it. I deffinetly recommend this anime, it's really fast comdey there. biggrin I really enjoyed this anime, it was very entertaining. Aside from the fanservice and awkward scenes. My favorite episode is the one where....hmmmm, i need to think for a sec....AHHHHHH too many things went on each episode. Well i'll just say the parts i remembered the most. The part where Kafuka, Chiri and Meru were 3 Super Girls. It was like a Pretty Cure ripoff lol. And everyone in the class was all chibi. It was so cute. Oh now i remember! It was in Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, where they kept changing the art styles. it was fun to watch ^.^ Although clay animation Itoshiki sensei didn't look right lol. I also remember when that other student, the Apologetic girl, was apologizing all the time for everything. blaugh ahahaha, good times. Okay nough said.
