Last week it was reported that War Of The Worlds star Dakota Fanning was in talks for the role of Jane, the deadly Italian vampire in the upcoming sequel to Twilight, New Moon.

In an interview with ShockTillYouDrop.com Dakota said she was looking forward to becoming a vampire's girlfriend.

The young actress confirmed she was set to join the cast in the sequel to Twilight, saying "I really hope it works out - It would be really cool to be a part of that. I'm a big fan."

While she has not officially signed on yet, the director Chris Weitz has reportedly offered her the part in New Moon.

In New Moon, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black.

She suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires - and finds her loyalties tested.
