The spirit types are broken up into these categories:
Nature Spirits– spirits pertaining to nature or weather
Animal Spirits– spirits closely tied to nature, but representing an animal
Time Spirits– spirits representing Time or age, or something relating to that(no element in particular)
Mortal Spirits– not very powerful, represent things in the mortal world or created by mortals
Emotion Spirits– spirits with powers over emotions
Idea Spirits– spirits that represent a concept
