In The Darkness
I'm in the darkness all by myself.
I'm alone, I'm cold, I'm scared.
As I walk in search of hope,
Looking for my light,
I trip and fall throughout my search.
It's dark and damp, and hard to see.
I keep on falling,
Keep losing hope.
I fall once more, and curse the world,
Giving up, and not getting back up.
"What's the point? I'm all alone, there's no one there,
No one really cares, so why get up?"
I remain on the ground, beaten and broken,
Scare, cold, and alone,
Without any hope,
Without my light,
Slowly falling into despair.
When things seem bleak,
A light appears.
"You're not alone, I'm always here.
Stand up and let us walk together.
Let us find your light."
I find the strength to get to my feet,
and I reply to this light
"I've already found it."
And together we move on,
Leaving the darkness behind me.
