My friends "Akiramay" and "Lady Hitokiri" (I don't know WHERE those names came from; they seem to have had them for a while, but whatever), I noticed, were online a hell of a lot, so one time I was curious as to why they could stay online for hours on end. eek Big mistake. Had I known how incredibly addictive the site Gaia was, I would've waited until AFTER my Research Paper was due, but knowing that I have an addictive personality anyway, this was inevitable. When I first opened this site, I was a bit hesitant to get too close to it. The first thing I noticed was its bright-pink GAIA logo confused (which until recently, I thought was pronounced "GAY-A" wink . Just before clicking the x on the top-right corner of my screen, I noticed the Anime-esque characters and their brightly-colored costumes. Being a big fan of the anime and manga craze, I decided to take a look. My opinion of the site gradually improved, but I still felt like the only guy on the site! A little time in the FORUMS fixed that. This place is pretty damn cool. In fact, this journal feature kicks a** as well.
I had a journal once (which would be awkward to write in now because I haven't written in it in about three years) -This is how my journal-writing ended (i think...):
*writing in journal* stare Mom: "Dave, we got you something...it's what you call a GameCube!" -end-
Maybe not quite so quickly, but that's basically how it happened. Anyway, so now I feel like a youngyin playing dress-up with my avatar doll, and while some would find that unusual or homosexual, to those people I am only sorry I can't shout these 2 words into their ears:
"SO ******** WHAT?!"
(yes I know it's 3) "There some people that hate other people for who they are and I HATE people like that!" -National Brotherhood Week * 3nodding *
While I feel that contributing to a fun virtual community and making virtual friends (and lovers xd ) is healthy entertainment, I have concluded that by the end of my degree here at UIUC, I will have gained AT LEAST 1/2 of my current body weight, thanks to this wonderful drug called Gaia. (Not to put down Gaia, but I swear there are narcotics floating around the forums site mad ) I would have a witty comment to officially end this entry, but the domokun on the left side of my screen has caught my eye domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun
biggrin ave
