R.I.P Rachel Joy Scott 1981-1999

She always was kind and caring to people she did not even know.She touched the lives of others
Rachel Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. She was only 17 when she was killed. Rachel was sitting out side with her friends eating lunch when the 2 gun men came over the hill
and open fired. They put bombs in the cafeteria but they did not go off
so that is when the gun man started shooting at the school The 2 boys who commit the crime went back to the library and killed themselves.
The gun men went and killed people in the library
and some in the lunch room. They set bombs there that never went off before
they gunned the school. Rachel had a journal in her backpack when she was
shot and the bullet hit the journal and left a mark. Her backpack was kept as
evidence for a week. During that week a business man called Rachel's
house and talked to her dad about the dream he had been having.
His dream was Rachel's eyes in the sky crying but the tears made things grow
like plants. Her father had no clue what this meant until he got his daughters
backpack and the first thing he did was go to the last page in her journal
and saw her eyes crying and flowers growing; just like the business man
had seen in his dreams. Rachel knew her destiny. She knew she was gonna
die young. A week before the shooting she started writing disturbing poems.
"This will be my last year Lord. I have gotten what I can. Thank you"- Rachel Joy Scott.
Rachel had another one she wrote that I can not find right now.
Rachel's Funeral was the largest CNN funeral broadcast in history.
The Columbine shooting was the biggest high school shoting
in history. One of the girls Rachel inspired lost her mom in a car accident,
after the Columbine shooting the girl moved to Virgina and then
she was also in and survived the Virgina Tech Shooting.
13 people died and 27 injured her brother
was almost killed. Craig (her brother) had to see 2 of his best friends
get shot. Matt and Eziaja ◄-(cant spell). Craig went threw a hard time
and had to be pulled out of school because of the death of his sister
and his 2 best friends. If the sprinkler system had not gone off that day
Rachel's parents would have lost 2 of their childeren.
She was killed on Hitlers Birthday by people
influenced by Hitler.I may not have known her but hearing about her
made me realize one person can change the world.I Accept the challenge.
