So there's a small kerfluffle in the manga blogosphere regarding the lack of manga nominees in this years Eisner Awards.
As per usual the best source of information about this is Mangablog, and in fact this whole situation warranted its own entry! In defense of the Eisner judges takes at look at some of the unhappy and angry reactions and offers a slightly more neutral look at the entire thing, albeit one with a vaguely manga slant.
The real gold mine for arguments comes via The Beat and their recent entry, Do the Eisner Awards ignore manga?
Essentially, some folks in the manga blog community (and industry itself) are feeling snubbed by the lack of manga nominees, arguing begins! There is some interesting discussion to be found and suggestions about the possibility of starting a US based manga awards is brought up as well.
It makes for good reading, least I think so.
