History of Dragons
A journal describing the dragons and history of dragons on Earth. Information is taken from my knowledge of the dragons under the Green Emperor's rule and the knowledge I've received from dragons I've met.
The Beginning of Dragons
According to the legends of dragons, these stories have been passed down through the generations, which by dragon years can span a great length of time. I have created a mixture of these legends, or from those that I have heard, but I am mostly following the tale told to me by Honoras, the oldest dragon alive today. His grandfather, the first Emperor, was a fledgling when he heard the tale first-hand from the First Dragon, Myritian.
Myritian was born billions of years before the fires in the belly of the Earth ignited, as a star. He had a consciousness but no body, only that of his star body that shone brilliantly in the depths of space. But, some time after the Earth had formed, his star body exploded in a supernova, and, given the gift of fire from the event, transferred himself through heat into the darkness of space, until he latched on to a nearby comet. He gave the comet its tail and directed it for a new planet, where he would have a material body, something he had longed for since he was born.
This comet took him, after some time, to Earth. When the comet passed through the atmosphere it grew hot, so hot that the space rock melted. Seeing the perfect opportunity, Myritian used his gift of fire from his star body's supernova to create from the comet a body, born of rock and fire. He had made himself into a dragon, the First.
But on this strange planet he was lonely, and so chose to create for himself a mate. He used the last of his gift from the supernova to turn an Earth rock into a female dragon, and they became the First Two, the Two who began the dragon race. . . .
