Rent!!!!
So when I was 15 I saw Rent for the first time. It was amazing and touched my soul. Ever since it has been my favorite broadway musical since then, even above Les Miserable which I was a big part of since I was 7 and my cousin played Cosette for 5 years and even met her husband on the set. Well, anyway. Rent is number one, then Phantom then LEs Mis. So anyway. I saw Rent on Saturday, my dear sweet husband slept through half of it, but that did not ruin it for me and sure Contact was cut out of it, but you barely missed the fact they didn't sing everything and that it was dark or Rosario Dawson sounded like she had a machine attached to her vocal cords during some parts of most of her songs. It was amazingly done! Surperb. I truly believe all of you who don't believe you could ever like a musical should go see this movie. It was poetic, magical and honest. It shows you hard times, good times and why we keep on living no matter what troubles come our way! It, as I said before and I will say again is my all time favorite musical and being a child raised with music and theater, I don't light a candle much at any play, I don't choose favorites in other words! I am a soul who shall write, sing, play, dance and live through music. I have missed alot since I became a wife and mother, but music still flows through my viens as it always will. So my one bit of advice for everyone and anyone this year, go see RENT and learn why life is worth living! Why love is precious and why friends are your family when you feel like you have no one in the world. smile love love love love! Sing and say it, proudly!
