A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge Thursday morning, police said.

Walter Cook, 42, of Baldwin, was pronounced dead at Southside Hospital following the crash at 7:48 a.m. just east of Marcus Boulevard, Suffolk police said.

Cook, riding his 1994 Yamaha eastbound on Motor Parkway, collided with a 2007 Nissan exiting a parking lot, police said.

The Nissan driver, Carlos Gomez, 21, of Brentwood, was also transported to Southside Hospital. Police said he was treated for minor injuries and released.



The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said. Detectives asked anyone with information to call them at 631-854-8452.

The accident closed Motor Parkway for about 2 1/2 hours between Kennedy Drive and Marcus Boulevard.

Witnesses now say that the vehicles didn't, in fact, 'collide', but the Nissan hit my father while my father was turning a corner, thus ending his life in this world....
