Rotting,
Weeping,
Oozing.
This is my life.
Dreaming,
Fearing,
Dying,
This is my everyday.
Depression,
Insanity,
Oblivion,
Reality,
And,
Imagination,
They are my friends.
My poems are my brain waves.
Up,
Down,
Stop,
Flow,
Rythmically they dance,
To a ballroom waltz only I can hear.
Pain,
Pleasure,
My feelings.
Left,
Right,
Back,
Forth,
In a never ending sway.
My gown is flowing,
Pearly white,
Becomes dusty gray.
Butterfly wings,
Peeled back to reveal spider legs.
I dance,
I sway.
Trapped in the vortex that is my mind.
I sing,
I scream,
I cry,
I laugh.
Twirl,
Bow,
Left,
Right.
The tempo jumps with my heart.
On and on the song goes.
Spin,
Back,
Forth,
Pull,
Push,
My heart races.
I'm dancing with no one.
I'm alone.
My moth eaten dress falls still.
My fingerless gloves,
My bare feet,
Running mascara,
Smeared lipstick.
It's Prom Night,
And I'm alone.
It's Prom Night,
And no one's here.
