So, my comrades and I are closing in on the end of yet another school year. Recently I've been pondering how much closer I am to graduating from high school and finding myself in the so-called "Real World".
Not that I'm any stranger to this "Real" world of which they speak, mind you. I had a pretty traumatic childhood-although I understand that all of us have our fair share of BS to deal with.
Anyway, the end of the school year. I was met with the interesting question of "What will you miss about this year?". Well I can tell you in all honesty that there are many things I won't miss. However,that isn't to say there aren't some depressing things about moving on this time around. One thing I will really miss is my English teacher(although, with any luck, I will have the pleasure of her teachings in Senior year). I will certainly miss all of my friends, although I've been harassing them all for their phone numbers, so keeping contact in the summer months shouldn't be very diffcult. Of course, having lunch with my friends, finding new and innovative ways to avoid atteding class, all that fun stuff.
SO before I get so very shmaltzy, I will gladly tell you what I won't be missing. Stupid, stuck up people who are smugly convinced that they are a lot smater than they actually are. You people know who you are, and more than likely how I feel about you. Students who celebrate and embrace their ignorance rather than doing anything to rectify it. Teachers who are sure that their students have no life outside of their classroom. You know-the ususal.
Although, to be fair, and all things considered, it really wasn't an awful year. Really, I am sort of sorry it's almost over. However, i'm not the type to dwell on it for too long- I'm off to FLorida at the end of the month, and on to new adventures after that.
