And I kinda like it. <3
But it's gotten longer than I thought xD 1055 words or something...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I feel so good. |3
If you wanna read it:
Losing halos
I wake up from the rain and find myself lying next to a road, somewhere...
Feeling dizzy and lightheaded, I lift my head a little, taking a look around as good as I can.
It seemed like my world turned black and white.
Everything is grey in grey, and here and there some black, some white; crumbled buildings, dirty streets, and the sky has also turned darkish gray.
I look down upon myself. My clothes, a light gray shirt and a dark blue jeans, are all tattered and torn. The shoes I wear look
like somebody's walked a thousand miles in them; I can't even tell what color they are.
Not only my shoes are encrusted with dirt, but everything looks just so...filthy. Disgusting.
I put my head down again and try to comprehend the situation.
Where the hell am I? Just what is this godforsaken place? Why am I wearing these strange clothes?
I don't understand anything at all.
But I figure that lying here won't help me either, so I decide to stand up.
But as soon as I try to get up on my feet, excruciating pain hits me and forces me to kneel down.
Just what is this? The pain goes right through my spine, up and down, up and down.
It spreads. My shoulderblades start to hurt as hell and for a brief moment, I just wish that I could die.
I bite my lip, hoping to distract myself from the pain, but it only gets worse.
The only thing I feel is the skin on my shoulderblades ripping apart and I cry out in agony.
Why does it hurt so much, what does that all mean? Why me?
I reach out behind my back, and I feel...metal. Warm, bloody metal. Metal? Just how...
Somehow, these chunks of metal grow. They grow bigger, and seem to take on a certain shape. I can also feel wires coming out of my back...
That's the last thing I remember before passing out from the overwhelming pain.
...I wake up. Again. In the same place, and it's all the same around me. Nothing's changed.
I try to stand up again, though carefully; but no pain at all this time.
It's quite the opposite - I feel good and full of energy.
Then, I remember. I reach out for the metal on my back again...And it's grown. A lot. It's become so big I can't even grab it completely.
Wires of various sizes are coming out of my back, too.
I try to feel what shape the metal's taken...And it seems like I have some sort of wings on my back now.
Wings of metal. I don't really know what to make of that, but I decide that I should walk around a bit, since staying here is no use.
While walking, I notice that the wings are extremely light and don't hinder me at all. Strange...
"There he is! Seize him!"
Huh? Voices?
I turn around and see some figures running towards me
Contrasting the dark buildings, they are all dressed in white; their coats flattering in the wind, I could see white shirts underneath, and black cravats.
Everybody's dressed the same.
Wondering what they may want from me, I walk in their direction, shouting out... nothing?!
My lips move, as does my tongue, but somehow, not a single word comes out.
I try to shout, to whisper, to yell, to talk normally, but none of those actions yielded any results, I just stay silent.
Somehow all of this feels more and more like a bad trip.
Interrupting my train of thought, a few sturdy hands grab my arms and pull them behind my back, fixating me.
Once again I try to talk to them, but I remain voiceless.
"Don't even try, you won't be able to speak", says another man who has positioned himself right in front of me.
I give him a puzzled look and he continues: "That happens when you become a higher being. They don't speak. Their abilities of
communicating are beyond human comprehension. Don't you remember?"
I shake my head in confusion.
"Huh, so the amnesia's already kicked in...Way sooner than we expected..." He mumbles to himself.
Glaring at him, I struggle against the other mens' grasp.
"Oh, you probably wonder what all of this means, right? Let me explain.
We are researchers. This world is rotten, and we try to restore it back to it's original shape, to how it once was.
You know, there's some sort of...virus inside the earth's core. We tried injecting an antidote, but that wouldn't work.
So we've looked for other methods. And in the dead sea scrolls, we discovered a possible way...
Saving the world by creating an artificial god." He pauses, and stares at me instensively.
"You are god."
My head starts spinning. I don't get this. Me? A god? How? Just how could this be possible? I -
"We altered your body by injecting nanomachines. They've got a certain...let's say, a certain setup, that changes your body and your brain.
This is how we try to make a god out of a human being. Now, you may wonder why we chose you.
Well, you were in jail for -"
His head falls off. Like it would be the most normal thing in the world. With a dull sound it hits the ground.
A fountain of blood sprays out of his neck and covers all of us; me, the men behind me, and the two other scientists, their eyes widening in shock.
I feel this sudden flash of rage and a massive amount of it starts flowing through my body, filling my veins with it; but somehow, I still manage to keep
my calm.
"Wh---monster!" Shouts one of the scientists at me, and the men behind me release their grab. Yelling for help and in fear, they all run away, those cowards.
...Did I do that? I wonder. I focus all my rage on the men running away, and they just...Well. They explode, without a sound. They actually turned into bloody messes
in the blink of an eye. So that's the power of a god, it seems...
I walk down the road.
Restoring the planet, huh?
I explode.
But without a sound.
