Yep. I love the Magic (the Gathering)
Just want to remember dates.
I went to my first Magic draft I guess was technically not a draft but when Simon and I split 4 boosters draft-like and I used a 60 card premade green red warrior deck as skeleton. then I used that draftage to mix with that same premade deck that I had another of to make my awesome Maethorhim Deck (warriors) won with it the next time that was final. so like a week later probably. May 27th was the win. Final attack was for 70 damage.
First Sanctioned Draft I went to was Friday June (2009). I was late. Wasn't able to draft.
Which was good, 'cause the idiot whom I detest was there. So I was able to run. Really shook me. I actually cried. So many hugely strong emotions jumping back after a year of not thinking of all that s**t he caused. Called a bunch of people. Panicked. Was freaking out at Fallowfield. The only person I could get a hold of for a while was Ally, who's cool and all, but we're not close. But she was in the middle of her brothers graduation or something. I headed home. was on the 11 when my awesome friend called me back. Got my message when he turned his phone on after work. Went to the Byward market saw some awesome circus performers. Met up with his roommate and another awesome friend of his. Went to the new Calvin Klein Store in the Rideau.
Underwear shopping with your awesome happy gay friends is a great pick me up.
Then we had Bubble Tea. And Pita from this awesome pita place.
Went to their place. Lost my bus pass. Found out that awesome friend #2 plays magic. Infinite mana'd him to deth. He was winning too...
Any way. I went and actually played my first sanctioned draft the next Thursday, June 18, Lost the first match, lost the second match, but the kid I was playing dropped, and so for the third I got a bye. Which I think is counted as a default win? I dunno.
Drafted again June 18, I think It was a lose, win, lose night? Not sure.
Next and last sanctioned event I did was a m10 prerelease sealed. July 11. Lost my first match, won the second, lost the third, and the last, there was confusion and the person I was supposed to play had left. Again, default win? I dunno.
Bah I won (name was randomly drawn) a bottle of Jones Soda with Chandra on it.
Last saturday was a non-sanctioned event.
Kid bought a box of unhinged boosters online. And we drafted. Again, Lose, Win Lose.
Last match was really close though. He won the first game, I won the second, and he won the tiebreaker. There were 8 players. If I had won that game I woulda have been in the top 4 >.>
Still I made a grown man cry by staring at him.
Eye to Eye I think is the card. Have a staring contest. If you win destroy target creature. Staring contest went forever. But I won it. For my 2/2 laughing hyena. Stared for so long both our eyes were tearing up. Tears hit the table. It's a good thing I had card protectors or else my cards would be screwed.
Still. I won that game 'cause of that 2/2.
And I won one of the two door prizes. Jack-in-the-Mox. Someone else got a Blacker Lotus.
Won't be able to draft again for a few weeks though.
Work sucks and I'm broke.
