Today I drug out my old bike, and when I say old, I mean I haven't ridden it for 4 or 5 years now. So, I get it out and the chains all rusty and the tires are flat and it would cost me a lot to get the thing repaired, I mean $15 per tire alone, plus the new chain and a helmet that fit right and safety equipment on top of that would cost a bundle. So, I get looking around the store and I find a good bike and it's on sale, $58 for a brand new mountain bike, when you add all the other stuff it cost me less than it would've cost to repair the old one. Plus the old one was a youth bike, which I'm no longer a youth, so I was way too big for that bike any way.
The situation is that I'll have enough money for tuition and rent, plus occasionally a night out with my girlfriend, however the cost of the bike may take away more money than I thought it would, so grocery money may be short for a month or two, but the cost is worth it, the bike will last me and get me from my apartment to class and back with out the cost of gas and in less time than it would take to walk, however I don't know what my mom would say. Oh well, it's my bike, not hers, so why does her opinion matter, well, she is my mom, I guess her opinion always matters.
Oh and I forgot the cost of books, why do books cost so freakin' much? $200 for one book is way too much, it should be more like $75 for the really thick ones, but no, it isn't. Grrr... sigh... oh well, there's nothing I can do but complain, which doesn't get anything done any way.
