In the past few weeks this topic seems to have blown up in a big way. It all began with a little post from Lea Hernandez in her Livejournal, where she goes on to explain that she's quitting mainstream comics due to the overwhelming sexist attitude that prevades it. She posted several follow ups to the original post, clarifying what she's doing, her reason for doing so, etc.
Around the same time, though a little bit earlier, , in her column over at Buzzscope, wrote about a lawsuit in the works regarding a young up and comming female artist being sexually harrassed by a long time well respected comics professional. She keeps things deliberately opaque at the request of the female involved, but it, along with the Lea Hernandez posts, have started a new wave of criticism regarding the sexist attitudes within the industry.
And now, in her latest update, Ronee Garcia Bourgeois posts a three way interview with Lea Hernandez, Colleen Doran and Beatrix Kyle regarding the issue.
