I have been wanting to get a new point and shoot camera that doesn't completely break the bank, but takes good pictures both indoors and out. The camera I have now takes amazing pictures outdoors, but the indoors pictures are terrible. Any advice?

I know I want a viewfinder for when it is really bright out so I can still center pics and such. I know I want a decent battery life too. The one I have now..that is the other issue with it. Literally, oh about 20 pictures w/ the extended life batteries max. Otherwise I can only get about 8-10 pics w/ regular batteries. It is RIDICULOUS! Honestly 50-100 pics most people consider terrible battery life but honestly if it has everything else it is already 100x better than my current camera.
