THIS NAME SHALL NOT BE NAMED
Meep
Cold Storm
After my vision began to clear, I only had one thing in my head.

Cold.

I was chilled to the bone, my skin felt numb and frozen. I sat up, my palms touching the snow beneath me. Looking around, I could see little white specks of snow gently falling into a white blanket. My leg ached badly; and I could hardly even remember where I was or what had happened. I suddenly spotted Luan. He was few feet away from me, partially covered in snow. Luckily he seemed to be breathing. I quickly crawled over to him, and despite my shivering arms, I managed to brush most of the snow off of him. He was obviously passed out, but for a second I wondered if he was even alive. Oh, how I wished I was back home. I tried to recall what had happened. Aminh, Luan, and I were all goofing off and walking on a snowy trail. We didn’t even notice that we had walked off the trail and were totally lost, until we decided to head back. We got into a huge argument. I remembered how there was a thunderous noise; it sort of sounded like a crash. Then everything became white as a mix of snow and rocks were suddenly burying us alive. I tried to think, but the rest was blurry. All I could see was snow, snow, and more snow. There wasn’t a single tree in sight.

I sighed. Trying to figure out what to do was as difficult as explaining colors to a blind person. I couldn’t even recall where the cabins where, or what trail we were on. One thing was for sure though; If Luan and I are together, then Aminh must not be far away.

I begin to stand, and as soon as I did, an abrupt pain was stricken up my leg like a lightning bolt. I winced, lifting my leg up a bit to examine it. There didn’t seem to be any wounds other then a few bruises here and there. I wondered for a moment if I had sprained it.

Suddenly, it hit me. I could always walk ahead, leaving Luan behind, in attempts to save my own life. My leg was already injured and in case Luan was dead, it would only take more time to drag him. The word death was replayed in my head several times. Just hearing that word frightened me; because I knew it might not be long until I’m in such a condition.

I pondered it for a couple minutes, but the more I thought about it, the more scared and upset I got. I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t leave Luan. I took my jacket off. Luckily I was wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath, but the shirt alone provided little protection from the cold. However, I tried to ignore it. I gently wrapped the jacket around Luan. Then I tried to pick him up using my arms, but the pressure hurt my leg even more, so instead I threw him over my shoulders and balanced him using one arm. My leg still hurt of course; but as least now he was a little easier to carry.

Each step felt like a mile. I felt my feet freezing within my brown boots, and bits of snow whipping against my face . It seemed like no matter how much I continued trailing on; I didn’t seem to get anywhere. At this point, the only thing I really needed was a miracle. At this thought I heard a noise. And then, I lifted my head. I gasped. I couldn’t believe my eyes.
